Adam and Eve at from the Tree of Life (or was it the Tree of Knowledge? I forget) against God's orders and because of that all their offspring are tainted. Thus we are all guilty because of those two.
That's how the mythology reads, anyway. Sure sounds like a good way to brainwash someone though; you are guilty without even realizing it, here is your salvation. You do want to be in good favor with the Lord, right? Follow me, believe my word (be sure and give your tithe) and we will wash that sin away! Hallelujah and glory be to Jay-sus (dont' go dipping your hand into the collections plate now, ya hear?)
*yawn* Most any successful religion will have at its a core a way of demeaning the people it is meant to control and then offer them a way out. Christianity didn't reinvent the art of controlling the masses, they just put a different spin on it.

Original sin is the inherited tendency of humans to do things which intentionally harm or deprive others. Every human will sin without exception. Guilt is a responsible reaction to wronging others.
Those who feel no guilt are called SOCIOPATHS, and they tend to leave a trail of pain behind them wherever they go. Your life will be much more enjoyable when you know that you always try to do the right thing, and avoid intentionally doing things which will bring pain to others.
The choice, of course, is yours.

We are born with a sin nature. That means, left to our own devices, the flesh will choose to sin.
This is pretty obvious if you've ever been around a group of preschoolers. You have to teach them not to pick up a truck and smash another one in the head......should the other child take a liking to the truck.
Guilt comes from knowing we have done something wrong. God instills within each of us a conscience.

Sin is not necessarily "all the bad we do", but rather it is a positional state. It is like being born an orphan and in poverty. Your good or bad decisions did not make you poor or without parents, you were born in it. God comes and wants to adopt you into His family and give you a new family and an inheritance that is incorruptible.
Guilt really does not even work in the equation. Guilt is what the devil heaps on you to lead you away from God. Conviction is what the Holy Spirit gives to lead you TO God in repentance. One you repent, the sin and the conviction are gone.

Thats why I don't believe in the original sin doctrine. It makes no since. How can someone be born guilty of sinning when they don't know what sin is? Because babies don't know what sin is. Thats like saying your Father committed a crime and you are still getting blamed for it when you had nothing to do with it. I think we are accountable after we get of the age to know the difference from right and wrong

Nah, Adam and Eve f#cked us over when they ate the fruit.
'Cause they were tempted by Satan, see?
So they broke Jehovah's only rule. But apparently Jehovah isn't omnipotent enough to just say, "Well, that won't reflect on everyone else." He had to have a perfect sacrifice, so he screws Mary Magdalene and she has Jesus, who goes and is perfect and then dies, and now I'm confused.

You weren't given guilt at birth. All people are born sinners and most only feel guilty about it after they have accepted Jesus and changed their lives.

The christian religion doesn't make sense, ever. I've never heard anything from it that seems logical.
