Hi, my brother is about 13 years old. He's been playing hockey for about 4 years and this year he doesnt like his coach and his teammates. He tells me that he isnt good enough to be playing on the AA level that he is at. Recently whenever he has to go to hockey he will burst into tears and hold his stomach. Its almost obvious that hes faking it but at the same time you cant think that he is because he genuinely looks like hes in pain. For example the other day I was punchng him and throwing him around (brotherly like of course) and he was fine then 4 hrs later when my dad told him to get ready he started crying and holding his stomach. What we think it might be is some kind of anxiety. He went to the doctor and they said nothing was wrong with him. Any ideas?

He may be getting picked on? Or someone is being rude to him? Might just be emotional and he's nervous he won't prove he's good enough to the coach... I think that you should sit down with him and ask for the honest truth but promise him you won't tell if it's something thats not wrong with his stomach... You could be the older sibling to help him if somethings wrong other than stomach pains if you know what i mean.

if it worked once, hes gonna try it again. Dont give in. Anxiety isnt a sharp pain its constant nerves running throughout your body.. He's a faker.

Yup anxiety. I used to get the same way any time I had to drive someplace unfamiliar.
