I have a 60GB PS3 and I've been a Sony fan since the Original Playstation so I'm going to tell you to get a PS3.
To me the choice is simple, if you have been a Sony gamer and are familiar with Playstations game selection then get a PS3. To me the PS3 already has and will have a wider variety of games to choose from than the 360 because most of Xbox 360's major games are shooters.
The Xbox 360 has been critized for it's hardware problems and the red ring of death, so the PS3 is more reliable.
Also, I think that the PS3 has the most potential because it's technology is just being discovered and it will take years before game developers use the PS3 to near it's full potential. Games that first come out for a console don't have the graphic and technology potential that it will have in years down the road. If the PS3's games look just as good or better than the Xbox 360's games now, just imagine what they will look like 2 years from now.

Ok i would say a ps3 because it has the best tech on the market . The ps3 does not have a lot og good games out yet but soon it will and hey there is a possible price cut for the 80gb ps3 around x-mass but not for sure. But see you getting all the cool tech for a good deal it cost 800$ to make one ps3 and buy buying it for $500 or 600$. I would like to say that the ps3 is gonna have very good games this fall and next year. If u get a 360 you will have to buy a hard rive get an hd drive and xbobx live and that all adds up to a cost of the ps3 (if you get the highest price 360) and you have a blueray built in so thats next gen. Ps3 has wifi which the 360 doesnt and also the online service is free. Go for a ps3 :)

Depends on what you want. If you go with the 360, it will have the largest library of games to play, it will also break down.
The PS3, solid hardware, as of right now limited library.
Here's the thing, compare the two side by side and see what you get with each for the price, because everyone thinks the PS3 is so much more expensive than the 360, but it's just not the case.
PS3= $500, including Blu-Ray player, HD game console, access to online gaming (for free), upscaling dvd player, 60GB HDD, Wi-Fi, bluetooth for use with controllers and headsets, wired ethernet port.
Xbox 360=$350, including HD game console, access to online gaming (@ additional charge), or $170 for the Live package (includes wireless network adaptor, live membership for 12 months, and points card (to purchase items online), wired ethernet port, 20GB HDD, and wired headset. $180 HD-DVD drive.
So when you really compare the two systems, they cost about the same, actually the PS3 is a little cheaper if you want to get the full experience (online gaming, xbox live marketplace, etc...)
The PS3 is a little slow at bringing out the titles, but they will be here. Both consoles are going to have exclusive titles.
Which you chose is ultimately up to you on what kind of games you want to play, are there games on that system now that you want to play, and whatever system you choose, don't buy a system for 1 game, just doesn't make sense to buy the 360 for Halo 3 alone, or the PS3 for Metal Gear Solid.
Buy them for their current library, upcoming titles, and their backward compatibility if you have games from older systems.
Well that last one (backward compatibility, you better check Microsoft's website for details on the backward compat. on their games, not a big list, the PS3 (60 GB version) has the same chip in it for PS2 emulation.

If you have the money buy both, but if your like me and can only afford one you should buy the 360. The 360 has many amazing games like Gears of War,Bioshock, and HALO 3. It also has many more games. Online play is phenomenal. Besides why spend 600 bucks on a PS3 when you can buy a 360 for 350. Take the rest and buy games or accessories for your 360.

Ps3 , Its what its going to do that you need to be prepared for, the chip inside is designed for distributive computing.
Get on you tube check out the PSP playing Lair (using a PS3's power, what will games be like when the PS3 is doing something similar connected to an array of cell chips on the internet.
It is a differant strategy to Microsoft and when the next xbox comes out , it will neatly navigate around whatever specs they can put in a box,by taking a massive amount of oomph from the net,so i think that is kinda the point, lose a battle win a war
Before that though ,the Eyetoy is going to rock ,i was reading new scientist about year and a half ago,and you need to look on You tube to get a really good idea,
While there look at littlebigplanet, and home.
If your unconvinced wait until March when the Ps3 launches for real,i think its going to go ballistic.
also think about the Wi ,if you cant wait, but i wouldn't get a Xbox 360,within 2 years it will be a dead duck.

While I'm heavily leaning towards the 360, the best console for you is the one that plays the (exclusive) games you're interested in. I must emphasize - EXCLUSIVE games - not things like Madden which appear on multiple console. After all, no matter what console you buy will have Madden on it.
Also, be sure to base your decision on the games that are available NOW - and not on games that are "coming soon". Game schedules tend to change a lot. Titles get delayed, even cancelled, on a regular basis. Even if the game is released, there's been way too many examples of games promising slick graphics and fun game play, only to deliver a game that's not very good. Besides which, why would you buy a console now for a game that's not even available yet?

This is a hard decision PS3 doesn't have a lot of games and the 360 breaks a lot so you decide.

If you decide on a 360 remember it has a 38% failure rate. although Microsoft will fix it.Name something else you would buy with that kind of failure rate.
