The best! I had a dog for 14 years and he passed away in April. It was hard and I tried to go a while without getting another dog, but I just couldn't. We have a 5-month old puppy now. She is trying, but I know all of the work will be well worth it. I love to come home and see her sweet little face. It certainly puts a smile on my face. I can be in the worse mood and my dog can just make a happy just being in the same room. I have learned to enjoy nature and the simple things in life because of my dogs.

Dogs are awesome! I saw a program on the National Geographic channel a few days ago talking about why there is so much diversity in the dog species. You don't see cows with short little legs or long bodies like a Daschund. I am a biologist, so this fascinated me. They think it is due to the large number of tandem repeats in the canine genome. That's awesome.

I don't understand how people live without a dog or a pet in general.
Dogs are great- my 2 dogs put a smile on my face every time I look at them.

Most definitely. My dogs are always waiting at the door for me and so very happy to see me come home. No matter what kind of day I've had I know they will make me feel so much better. If my husband comes home ahead of me they are looking around for me as we usually ride together. Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh, being loved by dogs is wonderful.

OK, OK, OK...I am going to have to go ahead and disagree. We (as in my wife) have dogs and I was just thinking about this earlier today. Dogs are kind of like perpetual 3 year olds. They crap on the floor, you have to feed them, they get into the trash and they are always in the way. Believe me, I know...I have a 3 year old. At least my 3 year old doesn't eat her own feces.
My cat, on the other hand...One can't hate an animal that cleans itself, doesn't demand non-stop attention, poops in a box and can go outside unattended. They are kind of like perpertual teenagers. When you get tired of them, you can throw them out the door and everyone is happy.
Did I tell you I like plants? Sure, you have to give them water, but at least you don't have to throw them tennis balls.

Dogs are kind of like people. They have true feelings, they try to cheer you up and they make great company. And no,I'm not some dog freak.Dogs are kind of like a family member that listens to your every word and doesn't need to respond.
