I tried many different recipes but still can't make the perfect tempura batter like japanese restaurants. help!

I just saw a recipe that was equal parts beer and flour. Try it.

Walmart carries one in the produce dept., usually near the potatoes and onions. It's in a small bag, and it's made for onion rings I think. If you read on it, it tells that it's a tempura batter. If you can't find it ask someone there. I'm out of it at the moment or I'd give you the name off the package.

50g/2oz Plain flour
50g/2oz cornflour
pinch salt
175/6 fl oz ICE cold soda water.

Make into a batter. The Soda water has to be really ,really cold. Stand in a bowl of ice to really cool it down.

there's a blue box of beer batter that i used and it came out beyond perfect. i wanna say fry dipt is what's it called. they have it in most grocery stores in the seafood and seasonings areas.
can't miss it. sorry i can't remember 100% what the name is. i'm at work or i would run to my pantry to double check
