I had a job interview on Aug 28th. I was told they would be doing 2 and maybe 3rd interviews and that I would be contacted either way. As of today Sep 7th I haven't heard anything yet. I am really interested in this position. The first interview went really well. I felt really good about getting a 2nd interview. Should I call them? How long should I wait?
I don't want to blow it.

Hi,
It's never too late. We had a labor day weekend so that gives you an excuse to call. Just say you are calling to say thank you for giving you the opportunity for the interview. and then very politely, in your own words ask if the position is still open. If they are still searching ask when they are looking to set a date for second interview. Persistence pays off!
Just be yourself and sincere. My mottto is "you never get anything if you dont ask for it"
go ahead and make that call. be posotive! Good Luck!!

I would have to disagree with the first post saying that you are "out of the running". Where I am, today is the 6th of September, and that means it's only been 6 business days (keep the holiday in mind) since the interview. I would give them til Monday to call you back, and if you hear nothing, then I would call them and just say you were following through because you hadn't heard anything. It will show that you still care and are interested.
Did you send a thank-you after the interview? If not, it's always something that earns huge brownie points! (for future reference!)
Good luck with the job!

I would say call Monday sometime, not right away first thing, give them some time to get their day started. If their office opens at 8am, call around 9, even 10 is ok. With this being a Holiday week it gave them one less day to work on making their final decision. And if they took a 4 day weekend that was one day lost last week. Either way if your interview went well you will hear from them.
Good luck!

You should have had a sense of when they would call you back for the second interview at the end of the first interview.
Move along to the next job opening.
If this one still comes through great. If not, you kept your job search going.

I would follow up after 5 business days (Monday holiday , not a business day ) .
Then I would call HR to "touch bases" and ask what the status of the position was ( still open and interviewing ? closed to interviews and evaluating applicants ? filled ? )
Good Luck !

Well it won't blow it if you make a follow-up call.
I would suspect that due to the time you are out of the running.
