I have two no shed dogs and they are wonderful. I also have very bad allergies and pet hair really bothers me. But...

I have tea-cup poodle and a shitz-a-poo and I am not bothered at all by their fur. I have to say that the shitz-a-poo has a better temperament. He is very sweet and listens well. The poodle has a mind of her own but still is a very good dog. The poodle does bark a lot.

Good luck with your dog search but remember they are a huge responsibility.

I believe that Bichons are hypoallergenic. I am not sure if you mean problems with fur as allergies or with fur on stuff but in my house we lots of link rollers daily and the vacuum does a great job. I have two very furry inside cats and a long haired dog outside so I know fur, lol.
Petfinder is a great place to find a dog. I live in MO also and just found a wonderful puppy on petfinder, I picked it up Tuesday night, I love him so much already.

Darling, I know you long for the love, fun and companionship of a dog - and everyone should have a dog to love - but considering your sister's allergies; it would perhaps be best if you contacted a neighbor or friend with a dog and ask if you could "semi-adopt" him - that is care for, walk, play with etc. - with their permission of course.

Then, when you're older and living on your own, you could consider adopting a homeless baby at the local animal shelter.

But for now, have pity on your sister's allergies. Maybe she'll grow out of them eventually.

Sometimes it is impossible because of the health of others to personally have a dog of your own. However there are alot of dogs needing to be socialized by wonderful, loving people like yourself. Have you considered voulenteering at a humane society or maybe a few days a week at a veterinary clinic or pet store? I'm sure someone would love your help. I owned pet stores for alot of years and we encouraged people to come in and play, hold and love all our pets to make them happier til they found their homes. We only had pets from shelters in our store.

Try a poodle- they are best for allergy suffers.

most of these would be great for an allergy sufferer and cheaper then a breeder, and saving a life.
