Evolution and belief in the literal translation of Creation in Genesis is not compatible. Some Christians believe that God used evolution and that the 1st seven days in Genesis is not a literal 24 hr day, and tha evolution occurred in that time. I would like to add thought the people who have told you that evolution is based on scientific evidence and that Creationism is a story, if honest would have to admit that there is little empirical evidence for evolution. No understanding of how the process of life even started, an very incomplete fossil record, only a couple of doubtful fossil's that qualify as transitional out of the thousands that there should be all over. Just a string of hypothesis's hung together by "faith" and taught in school as fact without teaching the problems or conflicting evidence.

Not necessarily; depends on which version of creationism.
Fundie/young earth creationism takes the bible-babble 100% literally, including the age of earth - roughly 5000 years. Evolution couldn't have taken place during hat short period.
However, other creaionists simply accept evolution as the way their god works. BTW, there is no need for "belief" in evolution; the evidence is overwhelming.

Yes.
Yes.
Creationism states that the earth was formed exactly the way the bible says in the first two chapters of Genesis -- which is impossible, since the first two chapters contradict one another, but anyway. You cannot believe in creationism if you are intelligent enough to believe the theory of evolution.

No. It means you reject the political lies of "Scientific" Creationism. There are numerous Doctrines of Creationism that do not require you to reject reality.
Biblical Literalism requires you take a book account of Creation over Creation itself. You would have to lie to support your belief, then lie to support your lie in order to live a "moral" life. It would be akin to valuing the driver's manual over the car.

I believe in creationism (not the fundie Christian one) but I think some sort of force started all life. I think that life was very simple and evolved to what it is today

Yep, Evolution is the slow changing and adaptation of plants and Animals. Creation is a fairy tail. which has no proof what so ever.

No, they're not necessarily mutually exclusive. Some people will tell you they are, those people are generally the one's who want you to believe in a specific doctrine though. There's no reason why we couldn't have evolved from lesser life forms of which were created ultimately by God.

It means you don't believe we came from Adam and Eve. You could still believe God set evolution in motion and created this planet.

Yes, if you believe that the evolutionary process led to the variety of species over millions of years, then you can't also believe that all species were created in their current form less then 10,000 years ago.
