Of course anti-believers will say believers are the ones afraid to die that's why we "invented" an afterlife. But are you atheists really so comfortable with your concept of dying...the end? I have actually known this feeling all too well as I'm sure many have,it feels like life has no purpose that there is no reason for even being here, and it is very scary to feel so insecure and meaningless. There is an answer to that emptiness though,I'll let you guess what it is...ok now lets hear all those defensive answers...

I broke free from the fear of death after I became Atheist!

I'm so comfortable to the concept of death because it is natural, and it is nature that keeps us surviving. We live to enjoy our lives. It is not meaningless if you are atheist, you can do other things than worshiping and hoping for a second life. I hope you can listen.
And thanks, I don't need your preaching.

There is a purpose in life for everybody, believers and non believers. You have to wait your turn to find out what it is you are here for. Sometimes it takes a deadly illness to find out the purpose of your life. You are here to provide help and support to your friends and neighbors when in need. You are here to help the not so fortunate. There are so many reasons and a purpose while we on this earth. We all can contribute to something worthwhile and make this a better place. Just think about it. We are here to enjoy all the beautiful thing mother earth has to offer. For myself, I hope there is no after live, because I am very active and busy and once my life is over, I won't know anything anymore. We are born to die, so make the best out of your live and don't wait what your after live has in store for you, because there might not be one. Hopefully.

I might be afraid of the process, as it may be painful, but I'm not afraid to die.

I don't fear a hell, look forward to a heaven, or expect a re-incarnation.

As for having no purpose in life, why should there be a purpose for us? What is the purpose in life for a dog? Does he question his existence and hope for better things after he dies? I think not - he lives his life to be content, to please and to be fed and loved.

And if anyone thinks I would be insulted at being compared to an animal like that, think again.

An atheist

actually i was in a major motorcycle accident and was shoot at a few times. Neither instance was i scared to die. I was scared to get injured. When i regained consiousness from motorcycle accident i never once questioned whether there was a god.
I have never believed in god and never will.

By the way if you ask a offensive question you problaby will get some defensive answers. Seems like common sense would have told you that.

All living things are programed by nature to fear death . All plants and animals strive to live . If they didn't , they would take no precaution to protect themselves - - - life on earth would end .
All of life has the same purpose - - - to be born , or sprout from seed , grow up , reproduce , die to make room for our offspring.
We will all be just as we were long before we were born . This is natural , it's believeable , it's understandable , it's desireable . No hokus-pokus , no unexplainables , no fairy tales , no impossibles , no three-in-one "gods" , no heavens , no "souls ".

What you are saying is true. As much as the atheist boasts regarding his logic and reason, the fact remains that he can only theorize the after life. But that will only be opinion and not based on fact or evidence.

My life is wrapped within the One who has the keys to death and the grave.

Revelation 1:18
I [Jesus] am He who lives, and was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore. Amen. And I have the keys of the grave and of death.

John 14:2-4
In My [Jesus] Father’s house are many mansions; if it were not so, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you to Myself; that where I am, there you may be also.

As an atheist, I'm not afraid of what happens to me after I die. I'm only afraid of what will happen to my children.

That doesn't mean I don't want to avoid death. I like living! Living is much preferable to the alternative. I just know that there isn't some heaven/hell scenario out there waiting for me.

I'm not afraid of the truth. Some people like to make up stuff like eternal life to make themseleves feel better, but the truth is we die and thats it. It is kinda wierd to think we will not always be here, but we as humans have to face the truth that one day we will die and thats the end of it.

Dying is merely the spirits freedom from the body. There are worse things than death, such as an eternal cycle of damnation in which the spirit is never freed from its bodily prison. Think about that nonbelievers. Do you really want to stay locked in a body forever?

Nice point... bad way to go about it. You are basically telling others they are wrong and they need to go about things your way. That is an organized religions perspective... God wants us to come to him how he is comunicating with us. I am a former Atheist, God spoke to me in a way that is much harsher than most people would want. I was in a coma for a long time... yet because I know him now, I wouldn't trade that for anything. If they keep searching they will find the way.

I used to work in a Nursing Home and I swear - I could tell the unbelievers from the believers as soon as I entered the rooms.

The believers were calm, at peace, surrounded by loved ones, ready to go home and be with their Maker.

The unbelievers often alone and angry; and the terror - Oh, God the terror! You could look in their eyes and see the truth, they knew what was about to happen and they were scared to death.

Literally.
