Why on earth, are some of you so quick to rudely dismiss people on here who ask airsoft, airgun, and paintball questions? Yes, this IS the hunting category. There IS NO airsoft, airgun, paintball, or, for that matter gun category.
These non-firearm shooting sports don't belong in the Games-Recreation category. They don't belong in the toy category.
There's no one in those categories who knows anything about airsoft/airguns/paintball. Those who do know are all here.
Every time you insult someone for asking a question here, you potentially make guns/hunting another enemy. That's all we need....more enemies. More people who won't support gun rights or hunting rights in the voting booth. Wonderful.
These airgunners/airsofters/paintballers ARE THE GUN OWNERS OF TOMORROW.....Unless we convince them we are all a bunch of JERKS, that they want nothing to do with.
If answers provided categories for guns, paintball, airguns, and airsoft guns, That would be great...but they won't.

With all due respect...Quoting you directly......
"These non-firearms shooting sports don't belong in the games-recreation category." "they don't belong in the toy category."

I contend that they should in fact be in the Games & Recreation category, quite simply because that is where they belong, until they get a category of their own. I would like you to show me where it says that Paintballing or Airsoft shooting is a "sport" and not a game.I am sure that I am not alone here or speaking for myself. I will be the first to help anyone regardless of age in answering questions and supporting the idea of Youth Hunting and responsible gun use and ownership, as would the MAJORITY of people in the Hunting section of Yahoo Answers...
I suggest you focus on the facts and campaign/vent your personal feelings as well as others that agree with you, directly to Yahoo management rather than dump the blame and responsibility on us.This is my personal take on the situation. I will read the other responses you get here with interest...
Again, my own personal opinion based on the facts......

I play Paintball actively, and I would put it in sports > outdoor recreation, or games > general. Hunting is a bit of a stretch.

Why don't they belong in the Games > Recreation category? Yes you can seriously hurt someone with a paintball or airsoft gun, but you can seriously hurt someone with a baseball too.

And about the "gun owners of tomorrow".. While Paintball and Airsoft are on the rise, I don't think it will replace Gun Collection or Hunting, as they are two completely different Subjects.

The only thing I would add to JD's answer, regarding majoritys, is the majoritys here seem to think the same thing, that paintball and airsoft don't belong in hunting, it has nothing to do with the person, it has to do with the questions. The majority of people that regularly use the hunting section are here to answer REAL firearm and hunting related questions.

As far as future gun owners, there's PLENTY of youth oriented firearm activities that deal wity REAL firearms. You will NEVER teach a child to respect an airsoft toy as much as he needs to respect a real firearm. Maybe the airsoft could teach him the basics, but nothing will substitute for the real thing. Even SYM guns shooting symunition don't demand the same respect a real firearm does.

Well i have being asking questions and i get really mean-stupid answers.I don't know from who but we all do. Anyhow, im pro gun ownership. But all with its regulations. Of course you dont' want a ex-convict to have the right to own a gun. right?.Im 100% against hunting, but i wont critizise you for it, its your choise and you have the right to do it. But I AM pro shooting as a sport. (like paintball, target shooting, or even like obstacules or whatever, you get the point).
