Would be a tacky favor idea for an evening December wedding?

Thanks! :]

I really think that is a very unique idea:)
I really think not just the kids, but the adults would have a lot of fun with it. Who doesn't like candy???
I think even if they didn't have anything with your name on it to take home, that the thought of that would stick in their heads forever, what a memory:) Plus, who wants something in their home with you and hubby's name on it???

I mean, think about it, how many people are coming to your wedding??? Say if it's 75, figure making up 75 individual favors at approx 5.00 a piece (or whatever you spend) would be $375.00-- think of the candy bar you could create with that much money!!! And instead of putting together individual favors, you could put all your time into the one bar:):)
Put it next to the actual alcohol bar,LOL-- Let the fun begin:)

I don't think it's tacky, you could use all your favorite candies, even throw in some personalized m&ms, or candy in your wedding colors.

Both you and your hubby would enjoy putting this whole thing together, gives a chance for the man to be involved-- you two can pick your favorite candies and have whatever you want:) Fun.

I thought that you meant a candy bar (snickers) but you meant a bar full of candy varieties. LOL I did attend a wedding before that offered this and I will never forget it. It was a nice touch. they had cute bags and ties. I filled mine up with different chocolates that tastes very good. It was perfect for a after dinner snack.

I would watch the children and makes sure they have help from parents and don't mess over it or put there hands in it. I would also taste the chocolate first and make sure it was actually quality chocolate. I would also make sure they grabed it as they leave. They would hate to have to carry it around during the night. We actually grabed it as we were getting the seeds to throw, as the night was ending.

I also attended a wedding where they gave out small tin heart boxes of candy, after first using them for the place settings. That was real cute to and I did enjoy the chocolates later. Maybe this is just me because I am a chocolate person!
Good luck and congratulations!

i thought you meant a chocolate bar... but after looking at the picture, the whole set up looks really nice. That's such a cute idea, i love it! Not tacky at all! Especially the color palette they used, if it's all in tune with your wedding and not like a candy shop rainbow it will look gorgeous!

congrats!

definitley NOT tacky. You have soooo many options since your wedding is in December. You are also in luck because so many candies are made in the christmas theme colors. It would look beautiful. I'm excited for you. What are you're colors i wonder?

I thought you meant a candy bar like a snickers and was confused by the picture, until I read Stacia T's post. Yes, I like the idea, unless there are so many guests that they'd be waiting in a long line to make their selections.

Nope, I think it's great! Filling their containers will be a fun activity for your guests!

People can take the amount of candy that they want and anyone that doesn't want it can just leave it. They can choose different kinds too.

Xiomara, actually that is a candy bar, it's just not the kind you're thinking of. You're thinking of a candy bar like a Snickers. She means a candy bar... like a candy buffet. She'll provide cute containers and people can walk down the bar and fill the containers with different kinds of candy.

I think it sounds fun, practical, and thoughtful, and there's nothing tacky about any of those words.

I'm not usually a fan of favors, but in this case guests get to decide whether they want it and make up the variety they'll enjoy. If you're going to do favors at all, this is a great idea!

Do it, and make your guests happy.

It is a very fun idea; most everyone loves candy, and it's a good way for you and your fiancee' to share some of your favorite things.

Not that long ago, no one had heard of wedding favors. This is a fake "tradition" invented by the wedding industry in an effort to get you to buy ever more stuff. If guests notice them at all, it will be negatively, as in "How am I going to carry this crap around, and how soon can I get rid of it without hurting their feelings?" Skip the foolish things and use the money for more champagne or better food.
