Mike Colamecco has cooking classes through the 92nd Street YMCA in Manhattan for $35.00 each and 2 for $60.00. You probably won't be able to bring in recipes...that's not usually how cooking classes work, but you may be able to ask him a few questions regarding your own recipes during or after the class.

Williams Sonoma has cooking classes from time to time as well as culinary demonstrations and they're free. You can use their store locator to find the one nearest you and sign up for their events mailing list for a schedule of demonstrations

check the cooking schools in yourarea, they usually have themed cooking lessons like just chinese, or japanese, or just cookies, or just pasta. check maybe you can arrange for them to give you a good price if you bring along a certain number of people.
