I don't care what you do, but for you 32 grand a week? You have no reason to strike. What is a tube driver?

A tube is a bus, and I hope it is 32 grand in POUNDS a year not a week, because if it is 32 grand in dollars than they really only make about 16,000 a year in dollars. IF they make 32 pounds maybe there are other issues such as health insurance or pension that are not adequate.

As one of the previous respondents stated, it was the maintenance staff that went on strike this week, not the drivers.

Also, the reason for the strike was the risk to their pension fund caused by their employer, Metronet, being placed in administration, and nothing to do with pay, hours or holidays.

My view? You need to get your facts straight before asking daft questions.

Its screwed up that they strike. Its such an easy life they haven't even gotta deal with customers and on the victoria line the train drives itself, the driver just opens the doors when he feels its safe to and they get £32k a year for that.

WRONG

It was not the tube drivers that were on strike, but the maintenance staff. Without any maintenance backup, there were safety issues which made operation impossible.

Assuming it is £32,000 per year, you can't blame them for trying to get the best deal for themselves, should lawyers/ footballers get millions??

But it is not good for the rest of us, I am glad we live in era of weak unions due to Margret Thatcher!!
