Hi folks,

And I know this has been asked before :-)
Can you give me some ideas for wedding favors ? Also if you know of places that have them. I am looking for something nice but also affordable.

Thank you

I'm making flower pens for my daughters wedding. Everyone can always use pens. All you need is silk flowers, ink pens & floral tape. Easy & inexpensive to make. I have a picture of one if you want to see one.

I agree with the above comment, I attended a wedding where a CD of the bride and groom's favorite songs were given out, with cute picture of them on the CD case. It was a big hit, everyone really liked it. another popular wedding favor is a bottle of wine, where the bride and groom made a label for the bottles. I have also seen that done with sparkling cider.
A lot of people say that an edible gift is the way to go, like small box of chocolates.
I have also attended a wedding where the couple had small pine tree saplings at the door and people where supposed to go home and plant the tree. I thought that was kinda cute.

i agree with the others here who said do edibles - people don't care to cart home more wedding junk! sorry but that seems to be the general consensus in our corner of the world. we would much rather have chocolates, nuts, or appies of some sort, or a glass of wine, than another c.d.
we didn't do favours way back when, and as our kids were married they didn't want to do favours either. we hit a compromise, [at least in our eyes it was], we had the local chocolate maker make chocolate brides & grooms for us. he did up roughly two hundred wrapped in silver foil. using a ribbon to match the bride's colors we added a small card to each chocolate thanking people for sharing in our celebration.
each tables' centerpiece was a small crystal bowl filled with these chocolates set on a mirrored tray with 8 votives around the bowl. the mirror reflected the candle light and the light shone on the silver foiled chocolates - the effect was quite pretty. there were also smaller silver bowls scattered about the tables filled with small 'coin' chocolates in silver and the bride's colours as well. there were enough chocolates for everyone at the table to eat then and there or take home. with 8 guests per table there was a votive for each guest to take or not as they pleased. the majority of the votives were left behind, people just don't care about favours! but it all served a dual purpose, people had a memento if they chose to take one and we had really pretty centerpieces on the tables!
i hope this somehow helps, be creative and have a very happy wedding sweetie!

Not that long ago, nobody had ever HEARD of wedding favors. This is a fake "tradition" invented by the wedding industry to con you into spending more money. Goodwill Stores are overflowing with unwanted personalized wedding junk, and your guests sure don't want to be burdened with the silly things. I suggest you skip favors entirely and get more champagne or a better band.

This is probably not cool now and I don't know of any one who has used this before but I did candy roses. I used hershey kisses (butt to butt) and wrapped them in red celophane. Using green flower wrap stuff from a craft store I wrapped the bottom of celophane in place with it and then used some green long sticks for the stems. They turned out really really neat and everyone loved them. I made lots and stored them in the freezer. There were plenty for everyone and all enjoyed eating them too. :)

I didn't have favors at my wedding and nobody even cared or noticed. I'd save your money and use it toward any of the other expenses that come along with a big event or toward your honeymoon.

I have to agree Edibles are the BEST! Your guests will want to take it home and wont feel stuck with it! If you have extras you can enjoy them too! Besides we all have enough stuff and all I need to take home from a wedding to be happy is good memorys, tired feet and some cake in my tummy!

I just went through this. I finally decided on personalized match books and jordan almonds. I know those are pretty traditional, but who doesn't have candles and eat candy? LOL Plus, I got the matchbooks on theknot.com on sale for like $25 for 100 of them. And the jordan almonds are cheap, too. Plus, if you're Italian, they're tradition! :)
