You have as many people as you want as your bridal party. We werent going to have any, but we did decide to have just a best man and maid of honor. You can have as many or as little as you like. To keep it "traditional" you would want to have the same amount of people on each side, but you can even have an uneven number should you choose. Its your day. Do what you want. =) Congrats!

Now the MOH gives the bridal shower, but in days gone by showers were given by aunts, cousins, good friends but no one from immediate family. So instead of have a fancy bridal shower, just get a couple of people to act as hostesses, you pay for, but don't tell anyone. Can have just cake, punch, mints or nuts. Some brides want the big toto, but with a small wedding, no matter someones age invite them. Family and friends are invited. However, usually for a bridal shower MOH and other BM's give it and it is for younger people. As for other things, go with her when she picks out her dress, help with invitations and be there for her on the day of the wedding, keep her calm, help with train on wedding dress if she has one. Make sure everyone has their flowers, etc. Since she has no close friends so would not have engagement or any other thigs normally associated with a wedding.

I would say yes that it is alright, I went to a wedding back in February and the Bride only had a maid of honor as her bridal party. It was really very nice and simple. It is likely something I would do if I were getting married.

yes, if there is someone special that you want as your maid of honor, you can do that, and not have any bridesmaids or even a best man, if you dont want to. Dont let others opinions get to you. I am planning my wedding too, and am even considering a destination wedding...everyone thinks that is crazy, but if thats what I finally like then i dont care. You are the bride so it is YOUR day (oh and your fiance too :) )

it is totally cool! I was my sister only member of the bridal party.. It was really sweet and quite special. I think that there is to much hype connected to the whole bridesmaid thing. I have 3 bridesmaid and my matron of honor (like maid of honor but she was married already) and I don't even talk to 2 of them anymore!

You don't have to have bridesmaids. You can have a maid of honor, only. And your fiance will have a Best Man. The number on each side should match.

Hi and congratulations on your upcoming wedding!
This is perfect! Simple, elegant and wonderful. Definitely OK. You don't need a whole bridal party, and I can understand that it's hard to pick, so this is a great solution. Good luck!
