I think you will have to run in the Royal Marines. I suggest that a minor misdemeanour will not stop you being recruited

Ah.
That really depends on what happened and what level of caution or sentence you received. They are not keen on criminals. If you were done for assault, gbh or the like they will almost certainly reject you (unless it was a good while ago, when they may consider your record since).
Best to be completely up front about it when you apply.
