Unfortunately that happens from time to time because the root of the tooth fuses with the bone. There isn't much you can do other than take your pain medication and antibiotics if you were prescribed any. You may for several months have slivers of bone trying to break through your gum tissue which can be painful and sore in that spot. Just call your dentist when/if that happens and they will have you come in to have them removed at no cost. Now if a large portion of your bone came out when the tooth was extracted you may need to see an oral surgeon. Just wait about a week and if it hasn't gotten better or if it seems to get worse contact your dentist and tell them that something is wrong and you need to be seen right away. If they gave you prescription mouth wash (chlorahexadine) use it. If not get you some peroxyl from wal mart made by colgate.

i have 4 wisdom teeth removed, for one lower tooth my jaw bone was cut and i had 4 stitches, that was the worst... it hurt for almost 1 month ... somethimes the pain was like a stink and sometime it was dull it was actually the healing and the flesh bonding back together and the wound shrinking that was hurting.i couldnt eat anything for a long time.
my jaw was swollen too and very painfull to touch.
i thought i had a fractured jaw but with time everything healed and i am back to my good old self... so dont worry it is a very small time of discomfort but after everything heals you will be perfect.
just give it time and apply alot of ice pads on the cheek/jaw area... i used to put a small crushed ice cube in my mouth to num and cool my mouth from inside and it helps reduce the swelling faster.

Um I would find out how much it costs to have the jaw bone replaced by the best surgeons in the world and sew the dentist for that amount plus a little extra for the enitial pain, time, and energy that had to be used for all of this.

Your going to be very sore for quite sometime. My ex boyfriend had a tooth pulled and the dentist pulled out some of the jawbone. After a little while some more jawbone worked its way out of the tooth cavity. He was sore for over a month. Im sorry your going to go through this kind of pain. my ex said it was awful.

Yikes!
There are risks such as this when you have a tooth pulled. I was scared to death when I had a wisdom tooth yanked out because I thought they would break my jaw or cause facial paralysis!
Does your dentist know of this situation? Go back in to be seen.

You SUE his/her *** for everything they have. That's what happens! That's really ridiculous. That should definitely NOT happen!
