If you look at it.... The devil is suppose to be the source of all evil, or temptation or whatever. But, God is suppose to have created everything, so God created the devil so God created evil. How can he be infallible if he created evil, unless God wanted to create evil to torment us little worms? And if God is all powerful, why doesn't he just get rid of evil/ pain/ destruction etc.... does God want us to suffer? Anyway you look at it, God is a jerk.
UNLESS- there is no God and we are just scared of the dark.

The devil is OUR scapegoat. Humans have never liked the idea of taking responsibility for their own wrongdoing. We invented a really nasty, evil superbeing called Satan, so we can lay all our bad behaviour off on IT.

Don't ya know, that when I do something awful, it really wasn't me. The Devil made me do it. Gee, that does raise one curious question though. I guess the Devil must be more powerful than "God" because it seems the Devil can make me do bad things, but God doesn't have the power to stop him. Or perhaps God and Devil are two sides of the same spit personality. When God wants to be loved and worshipped he puts on his "God" hat. But when he wants some down time, and just have a little fun at the expense of a few poor old humans, he becomes Devil and can then get his kicks making them do terrible stuff, to themselves and one another.

It suuuure has to be lonely at the top. To get any fun and entertainment, a "god"s gotta do what a "god"s gotta do. LOL

Because of you. Your soul. They both want your soul. God wants it because He made it. He loves it and cares for it. As a matter of fact...God lets you experience peace, love, contientment, joy and all of the other good things you experience. The Devil on the other hand...wants your soul as well. But he has no real reason for wanting it except to keep God from having it. He only have for you trouble, heartaches and pain. God is always innocent because He lays all the cards on the table for you to see what you're up against. That's how honest He is with you. The Devil however is always showing you the good side of things but his cards are never all laid on the table. His deception is never honest with you. Have you ever got a thought to do something and just when you do it, there's this voice that comes to your mind that says, "you knew better. That was just stupid!" That's the bad deal the devil gives you. That's why he's the bad boy.

he real scapegoat is Jesus.........The Law ordered that every year a national atonement day should be held on the tenth day of the seventh lunar month of the Jews. On that day atonement was to be made for both the priesthood and all the rest of the Jewish nation by means of the sacrifice of an unblemished bull and goat, the blood of which was sprinkled in the Most Holy of the sanctuary. Also, their sins were to be carried away into oblivion by a scapegoat. All that was prophetic of how God’s great High Priest would offer up a sacrifice to atone for mankind’s sin and would serve as a real Sin Bearer to carry away mankind’s sin into oblivion. All this provision would be an expression of loving-kindness on God’s part.

Sounds like kidding around, but you're closer to the truth than people might think.

Modern man has split his understanding of the world in to polar, binary opposites. This psychological split has led to these ideas of a wholly good God and a wholly evil devil.

Both are fictions.

The devil is the fall guy for god. He is there because otherwise the faithful would realize that an omnipotent, all knowing god has to be responsible for all natural disasters.

How would we know? We assume that God is good but no one knows. He could be playing with us, if he exists.
We assume that the Devil exists but no one knows.

I'm not religious. I was not brought up reading the bible. I haven't taken it up. I don't see a reason to. I'm guided by my own feelings and values. I see us as all interconnected so I try to be a good person. But no one is perfect and I'm not.

theyre both nonsense

the devil was cunningly designed so that all bad stuff could be blamed on him, and so god could be considered faultless

anyone who falls for this stuff is letting most of their head get away with doing nothing
