i've blocked 3 accounts now from a certain person, and made my Q&A private, and changed my name & avatar, reported it to yahoo... i'm just waiting for more harrassment with another profile. they've threatened to report me if i refer in any way to anything they've said or done to me in any question.
(i'm sure this one would apply as well. apparently by asking such a question i'm "slandering, harassing, and stalking" *them*, even though i've never answered a single question of theirs or followed them around reporting everything like they've done to me)

[btw, it's someone i picked up in the pregnancy & parenting section, not here. i just figured some on here may know what to do.]

i would ignore it, but they keep reporting me as well, and i don't want to lose my account.

how can i keep this person away?
what else can i do?

i only made everything private since this began. i only changed my name & avatar & reported it in full force (in an email directly to Y!A) this morning, as that was when i discovered the 3rd profile making rude comments.

oh yes, i've repeatedly asked him to leave me alone. it just makes him MORE mad & more adament. so then i blocked him, and he REALLY got ticked off.

twinsma:
*I* don't have multiple accounts, *HE* does. and the question that started it all was about how to pick a good day care.

interesting... i DID find an odd "fan" that had no questions, no answers, and only one contact--me!

They spend days reporting you till you lose your account. It only takes 3 min. to make a new one.

Just make a new account, and use a different identity for a little while. In a few weeks they will find someone else to bother and you can go back to your regular one.

There is nothing you can do about it, they just search your name in google and voila all of your answers and questions are listed. You could try to change you alias, but then again they might have one of your questions bookmarked and will be able to bypass that as well.

I know what you mean though, my other account had stalkers that would thumbs down every answer I gave and reported away until my account was suspended. It becomes obvious that they are following you when even the most accurate answers are reported in multiple sections. My only advice would be to start a new account, let this one be for a month or so that they will forget about you.

Yahoo has one of the worst ways of dealing with such harassment I have seen.. They do not seem to care about people abusing that report button.

I had a situation like this. The guys still emails me once in awhile, but I don't get reported nearly as much as I did a month ago. Try making your profile private. If you've already done that, and reported the problem, all you really can do is ignore him/her. My troll friend now leaves me alone personally, but he can still be seen asking questions about why women don't serve men.

"Slandering"!!

The report jerk who has many incarnations, recently Chosen by Grace uses the word slander frequently. He is a real nut job and should be blocked immediately.

Send his profile to Y/A and let them know that he is still operating.

Chosen by Grace love parenting too cuz he can proselytize against abortion. He also like to hang out in mental illness.

Dump your contact list and start over, being careful who you add. Since you have this person blocked and your Q&A is private, maybe your stalker either has a friend in your contact list or has a second account in your contact list?

Yahoo has a thing called Ask Mike. So maybe you should ask Mike since he is a member of the Yahoo staff. At least you'll get a reply, I would think.

You have to be vigilant, I'm afraid. Don't allow fans and block people the first time they do something "stalky." The good people will never engage in that nonsense, and while it means you may block a couple people who aren't BAD, you're not going to block those who are GOOD.

Honey, I've been reported for saying a reel mower has a low carbon footprint. A staker is a stalker.

Hopefully, Y!A intends to fix it.

have you talked to this person? asked them to stop nicely? tell them your not interested in their comments, opinions, or ideas. Be civil about it, though. Just be calm, courteous, and tell this person how you feel. Maybe it will work. Just do the best you can in talking to them. Well, hope that helps.

you could always post their name so others would be aware...that would probably just get them madder though...i had one that did that...and to be honest i was quite nasty about it to them...i'm pretty quick on the draw and was able to report him prior to his reporting me and just pulled the switch on him...then emailed him if he left me alone i would as well...haven't heard from him in a long time and i am just glad he finally left me alone...

I just ignore them.

I am NOT going to let some pimply-faced loser intimidate me on-line. When I get a stalker in the real world, then I'll start to worry about what to do.
