He so loved his craft, and his passion ignited us opera lovers. To be able to do something so well, to love what you are doing and to bring people happiness: a Buddhist would say, that was some extraordinarily good karma he was reaping.

I would like to think he's in a place where there's lots of good music and a really big stage with all the opera stars of the past and Verdi himself directing ... but oh how sad that he can't sing here on earth anymore.

I'll rise a toast to him, a life gloriously lived and a voice that will never die.

Viva Pavarotti, viva el Maestro!

If you trust God, He will help you. Pavarotti died at a ripe old age of 71 I believe. How many people you know today that have or even will live that long? I don't know how long I will live but I tell you...I think It will be nice to live to get as old as Pavarotti and still have my sanity, strength and such a powerful voice as his. He made such a positive impact on people of all cultures. You can too. You are a genious in your own way. Pavarotti sang with that powerful voice of his and brought harmony to places where no one dared to go...what is your talent? How can you make a positive impact on the many people you come in contact with? Think about it...You can do it.

He had Pancreatic Cancer. That type of cancer is usually not detected until it has metastasized too far, and is generally incurable, so whatever could have been done for him was done. He most likely lived a better life than most of us--and surely he had the best possible care. Plus he died in his home, rather than in the hospital. So take comfort in that. I loved him very dearly as an artist, but I'd rather see him go then watch him deteriorate and suffer. It was his time.

Romans 5:12(Genesis 3:19) - Because of Adam all die.

Romans 6:7,23 - Dead is the payment for our sin, therefore we are acquitted of our sin at death.

John 5:28,29 - Jesus' promise of resurrection.

Acts 24:15 - There will be a resurrection of the righteous and the unrighteous.

Revelation 20:13-15 - The time will come when people will be resurrected back to the earth.

Revelation 21:3-5 - God's promise that he is going to do away with death forever her on this earth.

These scriptures will give the reason WHY people grow old and die and the HOPE for our dead loved ones. I hope you read them.

If you believe in god, then presumably you believe in some sort of afterlife. If this is the case, then you should be happy that people die and are able to go to their afterlife, shouldn't you?

It was problably a 'blessing' for Pavarotti to die. I have seen what terminal cancer can do to someone, and you really don't want to go there, let alone be the one who is suffering it.

An atheist

Pavarotti was your brother???

Everyone who has been born must eventually die. It's part of the contract. Besides, don't you think God might enjoy hearing him 'live, in Heaven'? Don't be so short-sighted. You'l be together again soon enough. In 100 years, you won't be worried about it anymore.

Think of it this way. The choir in heaven just got one heck of a tenor. Now he can sing Ave Maria to Mary herself.
