Crystal johnson was arrested and charged for theft and burglary of $80,000. Her bail was set to $47,000 unsecured. Her family put up 1500 up front to get her out. she claims she has 2 preliminary hearings and then she gets off free. Also investigators have her confessing her crime on tape. Will she get a trial and be sent to jail, because she thinks she's getting off free?

Sounds unlikely. If she confessed and the confession is legally admissible (not coerced, she was advised of her rights before confessing) she'll be convicted. I have a hard time believing she'll get no jail time for grand larceny either. Unless she made some type of deal with the District Attorney for immunity or no jail time, she's looking at getting her own room with bars in the windows.

There will certainly be a trial if she plead not guilty. If the prosecution can prove their case beyond a reasonable doubt, she will be convicted, and then jail or prison is a strong possibility.

I think she'll get a trail, but for going to jail, that's up to the court...
