Here are a few tips:
1. You MUST exercise if you want to lose weight and keep it off, so do something every day, even if it’s just a 15-minute walk around the neighborhood. Don’t say you don’t have time for exercise; you have to MAKE time. Yes, it takes time and effort, but you’re worth it, right?
2. Walk as much as you want, but don’t do cardio for more than 40 minutes at a time. If you do, you risk burning muscle instead of fat.
3. If you do strength training, use light weights and do lots of repetitions. That’ll really help you “tone up.”
4. Your diet will make you or break you. You have probably learned bad eating habits over time (most people do). That’s not your fault, but now you have to deal with it. Make a commitment to yourself to unlearn those bad habits and re-learn better habits.
5. Eat breakfast every day within an hour of getting up. People who don’t are 450% more likely to be overweight.
6. Eat six small meals or snacks per day instead of three squares per day or one big meal per day. Your body expends energy digesting your food, so eating smaller portions more often keeps your metabolism running high because you’re constantly digesting food.
7. Avoid these as much as possible:
-- Trans fat (any type of partially or fully hydrogenated oil)
-- High fructose corn syrup (soft drinks are LOADED with it)
-- Fast food
-- Junk food
-- White sugar, white flour, white rice, white potatoes
-- The deadly C’s (cookies, cakes, candy, chips, cola)
8. Build your diet around these trim-body-friendly foods:
-- Nuts, any kind (almonds are best)
-- Beans/Legumes
-- Fresh vegetables (green is GREAT!!!)
-- Dairy products (as long as they’re low-fat or non-fat)
-- Eggs
-- Lean meats (fish and poultry top the list)
-- Olive oil
-- Whole grain breads/cereals/pasta
-- Fresh fruits (anything that ends in “berry” is a winner)
-- Tea (green tea or black pekoe tea)
-- Cold water or ice water (your body has to expend extra calories to heat it up)
9. Desserts and treats are the exception, not the rule. Having said that, however, (1) you can have a couple of pieces of chocolate every day – just don’t overdo, and (2) Allow yourself one “cheat meal” every week where you eat and drink whatever you want as long as you don’t gorge yourself. That’ll help keep you from feeling deprived and it’ll make it easier to stick with your new healthy eating plan.
Good luck!

You don't really need to lose that much weight and it will come off just by changing a few things. Walk to school if you can - even if it means leaving earlier and getting home later. Stop drinking anything other than skim milk and water and maybe a glass of OJ a day. Don't eat fast food - no fries, no potato chips, no cookies - nothing like that and ask your parents to support you by not bringing bad food into the house. I lost alot of weight this way - it took awhile but the changes payed off in the long run and I feel much better now.

Sorry to be blunt, but you would be more than overweight, you would be obese.
There is no quick easy safe way to lose weight. You need to develop healthy life styles and stick with them for the rest of your life.
Just watch your intake, make sure you eat a healthy diet everyday and get plenty of exercise. Run, ride a bike, join a gym if you have to.
Get a doctor/dietitian involved, your family doctor can recommend a dietitian to help you. You need to be very careful that you don't slip into anorexia.
My niece was overweight & had self esteem issues, started running and dieting - it turned into an obsession, which turned into anorexia, which turned into now bulimia. People started commenting on great she looked when she dropped her first 10#, then it snowballed out of the control. You don't want to go there - eating disorders are terrible life long problems.
Don't expect to look like a model, just get yourself to a healthy weight and keep there. Just resign yourself to the fact that weight control is something you will fight with your entire life.

The beauty about your weight is ....you are 14!! YOUNG!!!!!
You can really shed pounds easy because your metabolism is excellent right now!!!
But, you can walk to and from school everyday, don't eat past 6, and stay away from cookies, junk food period.
Also, on Saturdays walk around your neighborhood, walk the dog, or push a baby in the stroller (this helps alot for arms).
Simply, go out and walk go to the mall, don't sit around watching t.v. all day, and instead of getting rides everywhere, walk, take the bus, excersice.

I'm sorry but you are. This is what my doctor told me to do. Start eating tons of fruits, vegetables, grains/nuts, low fat on everything. Stop eating fast food ( mcdonalds, arbys, burger king, etc.), junk food, donuts, chocolate/candy, frozen foods, and white bread. ( can eat whole wheat bread). Fast food is packed with tons of calories. Eat more homemade foods, and use olive oil to cook stuff its healthy. Also to watch for calorie in take, read the nutrition facts. Exercise 3-5 times a day. do like 1 hour of cardio it can be like running or take like a class that gets your heart pumping. Or just go to the gym, and get a trainner they can help you too.

Yea that has to be tough on a 14 year old girl.
The good thing is that you are so young and have your whole life ahead of you so set a goal and start a healthy diet and stick to it.
You can do it if you really want it enough.

According to your BMI you are obese. I would exercise 3x a day for at least 30 minutes. Cut out all sugars ie. sodas, candies, and bad carbs. Look up the Atkins to give you a jump start on your diet. I started Atkins 3 days ago and I feel pretty good! Drink lots of water. GOOD LUCK!
