Hi! I just came back from a QM2 cruise from NY (6 nights)and loved it. I bought some cocktail dresses/evening dresses at John Lewis. I needed 'fancy' outfits on 4 evenings. On the first and last night, it was more casual but people still made an effort. If you are trying to pack lightly, don't forget that you could wear the same dress twice --with a different shawl/pashmina or different jewellery. Also there is a very reasonably priced dry cleaning/laundry service (same day if required) on board so even if you stained something you could get it cleaned. Also, well-cut black trousers (or a long black skirt) with a wonderful jacket (like embroidered silk or something with sequins) was another popular look. Have a fantastic time!

The best place in my opinion is on ebay. It doesn't matter what part of the country you live in and I have never been disappointed in any of my purchases. I bought all my formals - and a tux for my husband and son, as well as some fun clothes for our last cruise for an amazingly small amount of money. Ex - Tux was $15.00 and in perfect shape!!!
Have a great time.

i would look at womens consignment shops, ebay for dresses. I like the idea of mixing up the accessories you wear with the dress or outfit so you would not have to pack so much.
go to the website cruiseclues.com
for ideas.
