I always question authority. Especially asking the question "Who gives YOU the authority?".

I do question authority, but in general, humans have been trained that questioning authority is a battle that you just can't win.
We grow up and are told what to believe (without questioning) by parents, the propoganda media, church leaders, teachers, principals, and government leaders.
There are people who make a lot of money when people don't question. The financial system is seldom questioned. The the dictator like IRS and Federal Reserve System are complete ignored by the American people. And the looting of the common American people goes on.
In the 2000 and 2004 elections, Ralph Nadar, a man who would seek to abolish the corpo dictatorships through out America which would dramatically change the quality of life for every American on a daily basis for hundreds of years to come, wan't even given the chance to debate in the national debates because the self-proclaimed authoritarians brainwash us to believe that "He could never win anyway", "Don't waste your vote", " Be faithful to your party (even though both parties are totally controlled)" they want us to choose "Democrat" or "Republican" and stick with their brainwash.
Do some research people! I used to be a mainstream George W Bush supporter. Thank goodness I was only 17 at the time, so I didn't actually support the whitehouse warmonger. I am so glad that I never voted for a man who has the blood of hundereds of thousands of lives on his hands. A man who is so controlled, that he can't even dare THINK about creating fair laws for the people!
Do some research, even if it is uncomfortable and makes you mad. Get mad, Get the truth!

Most of the people I am closest to do indeed question authority regardless of the song.
Many do not as they wish someone else to make the decisions for them. That is why Madison Av. in New York is so rich. Why style magazines have great sales.
This is clearest during the cold war with Russian defectors in the US. Some begged to go back to Russia where they knew they would face prison. Why? Going into US supermarkets, they could not handle making all the choices Americans handle every day.
Today it is celebrities people follow. People do not want to make their own choices so they copy what celebrities wear, hold, read, eat, go, drink, act.
The Bible warns to never follow men, but only follow the course the Bible points too.

They do. People question George Bush every day and that sort of questioning authority has been going on for decades.
Every person in a position of authority is second guessed on a regular basis.

Who says they don't? In a way every election is a question of authority.
On the other hand often those who are vocal about questioning authority are those who have the least to offer as a solution.

Over half of the people in our prisons say they are innocent.
Anyone who believes that we have a fair legal system is sadly mistaken.
99% of the time when a police officer stops you, his/her goal is to try to put a case on you. Don't ever think that it isn't. The police trample the bill of rights all the time and get away with it. And most people believe that the police are accountable and that is just BS.
I live in Milwaukee, WI where 8 or 9 police officers beat a man almost to death. They were found not guilty in State court. And ONLY because one of them finally confess were any of them charged and convicted in federal court.

Have you been down to your local jail? A host of people are there who do.
And on the legal side, I think people question authority all the time if it seems unjust. That's why you see the proliferation of new laws and statutes.

I think more people question authority than you think. Look around you. People are questioning what is being told to them everyday.

I question authority often, but i also accept the answer and decide for myself if it is in my best interest to go along or not. Usually it is in my best interest.
But believe me, if it is not, then i do it my way. Sometimes it works and sometimes it bites me.
There is a difference between thinking for yourself and rebelling. Rebelling still gives your power away out of spite.

Lots of people question authority, if they didn't we wouldn't have had 1/2 the chaos that we have today.
