At our high school, bus passes cost $50 a semester or $100 a year. Parking permits are $7 for the whole year. I don't think that "young people" do not care, but it is a status symbol t drive to school, especially in a cool car. The high school student parking lot is usually packed, but then so is the teacher/employee lot. My science teacher usually rode his bicycle, but I think he was the only adult who did. So, I don't think "young people" have been led well.

Obviously you don't remember high school very well. Not many things are worth the social consequences of riding the bus for a high school student.

I agree with one of the other people who answered your question...it is too broad a question. I believe young people DO care about global warming, when they understand it. However, different people mature at different ages, and many young people have a lot on their plates. They haven't learned to organize their efforts yet. They are in a rush to be popular, to be liked, to grow up. Many, many young people take the environment very seriously, and work hard to do something about it.
In addition, the majority of adults probably care about global warming, but the highways are packed, cigarette sales are booming, and we are still destroying the ground we live on to mine for coal, etc.
So, unless you live on another planet than I do, you need to either include most of the adult population in your question, or leave the youth out of it. Remember, "Remove the log from your own eye before plucking the splinter from another's."

These kids have better things to do than to alter their western lifestyles to please the delusional eco-nuts who have bought into the lie of man made climate change. Something for you to think about. Have you noticed that the people who buy into the GW hysteria are the same anti-science chowder heads who believe that AIDS is everyone problem, DDT causes cancer, Darwin's theory of evolution is a fact, 675,000 Iraqi civilians have been killed by US troops, 9/11 was pulled off by the US government, Bush lied, man never landed on the moon, Gore won the 2000 election. Doesn't this tell you something

Here's the center of the global warming debate.
One person who thinks he knows what's right for others.
People make these decisions without ever knowing what impact they have or even if it makes any difference. All they need is a knee jerk emotional response to force others to live as they see best. No different than Hitler and his pseudo science of Eugenics.

Perhaps you are speaking with non-caring young people. I know some kids who are fully cognizant of global warming, but they feel frustrated because they feel they can't do anything about it. Sorry you can't have a free bus but don't blame your transportation problem on young people. From a "moany" old person.

I'm young and I recycle and try to save energy as much as I can. However, I'm not big with public transportation, just because it doesn't take you to many places here, so it's basically impossible to get around.

"Everybody talks about the weather, but nobody can do anything about it". Was this what Mark Twain said? Or was it Will Rogers? Enough said, unless you never heard of these men, then look them up. :)

Your question appears to answer itself, but I can't see how the question or the answer logically follows from the rest of what you said. Or is this just yet another attempt at a cheap shot?
