...before it comes in the mail? Turns out the lower level of the GWB is only for EZpass from 11pm to 6am, so no one was at the cash only booth at the time I drove through. Do I still send the money order to EZpass even though it was a cash only booth, or is there somewhere else I have to send it?

About how long did it take for you to get the ticket in the mail?

I did the same exact thing....took the lower level at like 5 am...and didn't realize it was closed to cash. They should really have a better sign or something....b/c I would think a lot of people do this.

It took almost a month to get the ticket from EZ-Pass in the mail. They charge you the $6 fee for the bridge and a $25 fee for going through.

I just called up the EZ-Pass number once I got the paperwork in the mail. The guy said to just send in the $6 and write "please waive $25 fee" on the paper to send in. Plus, if it is the first time...you usually don't have to pay the extra fee.

If the police officer didn't tell you, he should have. New York and Ohio are compact states. Meaning if you get a ticket in one and are licensed in the other, you better pay the ticket or you'll lose your license. I got a ticket in Ohio about 20 years ago. You better believe I paid it. Yes, pay the ticket. You broke the law. And you don't want to risk losing your license. Ohio will yank it for nonpayment of the ticket.

Hello i had the same problem and drove from the lower level around 12am and this was my first time driving through it and i didn t realize it, they should do better with the signs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Also my car is not registered for an EZpass, so is there anything i can do about paying the ticket? How much are the fines for this, any different than if i had my car registered for EZpass?

Thank you

you will get a notice in the mail. you can dispute the charges. if it's a first offense they let you pay the toll and not the fine.
you should be fine.
just wait for the notice

You would have to contact your police station, state what you did, and how to pay it before it comes in the mail. More than likely they will tell you that it cant be done and to wait until you receive your fine and picture in the mail (they send a nice picture of your car going through, and one of a zoom of your license plate). I did the same thing and had to wait to get it in the mail.

You will have to wait to get the ticket in the mail. When you do send them 31 dollars and you're all set.

I have EZ Pass but did not have any funds and still had to pay the fine even tho I ask to get it waived and it was my first offence. Also, now they want a deposit on my EZ pass account which sucks.
