Isn't half of it just letters that don't warrant consideration? Which leaves, primarily, four incomplete and inconsistent stories that cover very little of a man named Jesus's life. Sounds like a lot of wanna-be priests and theologians are who invented the religion by making things up.

Much of the information in the New Testament would be lost, misapplied or disregarded by such a religion because first of all, the parishioners would miss out on the events that fore-shadowed Jesus, his purpose, his countrymen, the laws that he lived under,the prophecies about him, why Jesus was born a Jew and understanding the things mentioned in the book of Revelation. By just knowing part of the bible, it is too easy to have answers that do not harmonize withe the rest of the bible. A person could write a long essay about this subject, but suffice it to say that a religion based entirely on the New Testament would require an extreme amount of BLIND FAITH and that is just not good enough because God is looking for those that worship him with spirit and truth.

I believe the New Testament has enough info to justify a religion but that religion would have just a few key doctrines and very few ordinances. The reason being so many gaps must be crossed to interpret properly and many things that are said are only said once, making it difficult to build a doctrine out of.

You can not build a religion because religion is not a building but a group of persons to gather together to know the truth about God.
Founding a religion which is not in the bible is not allowed by Jesus Christ. He has founded the true religion which is the Church of God. That is the only religion supposed to be. but many have been a founder, yet they are not authorize at all.
