I'm allergic to strawberries. I was once asked if it was the fruit or the seeds I'm allergic to. How the hell should I know?? I've never taken all the seeds off the outside to find out!

Oil Roasted Nuts - if they are air roasted or raw, I am fine with them, but as soon as they are roasted with oil, I'm down and out for the count.

I am also allergic to raspberries and cranberries. The same ingredient that is in the oil roasted nuts is what is in the raspberries and cranberries.

And finally, any type of mouthwash - scope, binaca, listerine - these all have the same element in them that is found in the oil roasted nuts, the raspberries and the cranberries.

My allergy is actually a heavy metal allergy - the mineral is absorbed by rasperries and cranberies, its part of the chemical breakdown that happens in the mouth when mouthwash is used, and it is somehow brought out in a compound when nuts are oil roasted combining with something from the oil - however it is in the nuts themselves doesnt bother me.

I am, and am not, allergic to pineapples.

I can eat them just fine.

I can't TOUCH them, or I get nasty itchy rashes. (Unless I wash my hands very quickly!)

I can only guess that the stomach lining protects the tissue enough while it's digested, since I have no issues eating them. I first discovered this by getting rash moustaches as a kid after drinking Hawaiian Punch....

... odd allergies in general? I'm allergic to my own sweat. I kid you not. Yes I can exercise! It's wearing anything that holds it on the skin -- that doesn't breathe -- that gets me. So, no wristwatches. No shoes without socks. No food service work (can't wear the gloves for long).

It's not exactly an allergy, but I can't consume glutens (wheat, rye, etc.) thanks to Celiac disease. It's just easier to say I'm allergic because most people don't comprehend the meaning of an "auto-immune disorder." Celiac may be hereditary, but it's not contagious.
