As I search through youtube, I find more and more pathetic videos featuring "new athiests" who seem more deluded than their fundemental Christian friends. No, I have no problem with Christianity, nor do I have a problem with Athiesm. I'm just sick of hearing:
"Well,um, I don't believe in God, uh, cause there is no proof of God, and, um [plays with hair], God isn't real, cause, um, I can't see him, and yea, I can't find proof he exsists so He must not exsist, and yea there isn't scientific evidence so God isn't real..God my nails are pretty."
I'd love some comments on this from a diverse community, just no evangelism (that includes athiests.)

Lovely example.
Of course did you really expect to find a proverbial gold mine of intelligence on Youtube?
Most videos on there are probably of people putting Mentos in Diet Coke.

(EDIT): "First a note about 'Dad' who posted above, claiming he cannot see air, but he believes in it. You can't see AIR? I can! Look at the earth from space? Can you not see the atmosphere surrounding the land and water? Regardless, you can touch and smell, and HEAR air, so seeing is not required. Neither is belief in something that is factual. It is better to know than believe."
It's almost as funny as Creation "Science" cult members asking Biology/Cosmology questions (or rather, making false assertions under the pretense of a question), and addressing atheists, as a group, for an answer. Why do they think the status of one's lack of belief in the gods is a qualification for having correct answers and being educated? Are they implying that they, themselves, cannot learn? Is it not possible for theists to correctly understand science and how it works?
I, and others, have posited that since these are not real questions, merely false assertions that end with a (?), that the person "asking" is not really interested in an answer.
2nd Edit: "Baptist, posting below: Evolution is a natural phenomenon. It can be directly observed. A population's genome changes every time one of its members is born or dies. This is an observable example of evolution occuring within the parameters of its definition, it's that simple. One need not BELIEVE in evolution. One can observe and know it for the fact that it is. Do you reject gravity as well? And what is brimstone? What is it made of?"

That is all I hear that "there is no proof" well if the person that believes in evolution would go and reverse things, and search for proof of God would find it. I just feel they don't want to, pieces of noah's ark has been found, brimstone from sodom and gomorha and been found. Not to mention all the prophecies that the bible talks about have been fulfilled. So there is proof it just has to be searched for, you would have to have an open ear.

They are bringing up the subject of religion because up until now its been taboo in casual social situations to criticize religion when it shouldn't be any more taboo than criticizing someones football team.
They are simply pointing out how absurd it is that people still believe in myths in such a modern period of time.
You have a bad sense of humor, it sounds like a childs.

I've noticed that as well. You missed out on the big drama going on when Brett Keane was still active. I consider the entire atheist/Christian intertwined community on Youtube as an ongoing soap, it keeps me entertained for hours.
Edit:
Yeah the Ghetto Preacher keeps me entertained also. What can I say, I get bored at work.

Finally atheism is beginning to spread beyond just the intellectual elite. It's about time.

Do you make a point of finding these things? Dont you have anything more fulfilling to do besides TRYING unsuccessfully to put people down.
Very sad.
