I Have a six month old male Maltipoo. I have had him for the past four months and he has recently changed his schedule. How many times a day should he poop?

He is eats dry food, and a couple of treats a day and weighs 5 pounds.

Thanks!

depends on the food he is on.. good food means less filler which means less poop
if your food contains by-products or has corn in the top 3 spots its high in filler.. as such the dog will poop more..
a dog on a good food might only poop once a day (usually within 20 minutes of eating breakfast)

he should be "going" at least once a day depending on the amount of food intake may be a lot more. Metabolism also plays a part. Sometimes dogs require a secondary source of fiber to help with digestion. If you think something is wrong then contact your Vet.

each dog is different just like people some go many times a day and others not as much.
It also can have to do with the type of food.

I have a 5 lb. pom and a 6 lb. chihuahua, 3 & 4 years old, and they both go poop twice a day, once in the morning after their breakfast, and once in the evening before we go to bed.

I've also been told if they run alot it works their kidneys and they poop more often- my dog will sometimes poop only twice a day- but if we run he can poop 3 times in an hour.
