I would like to see many things changed, not in the religion but the practioneers.
Firstly, to be proud of it (instead of bashing in the name of secularism :-)
Secondly, to go beyond the symbols that religion truly are and delve deep into becoming spiritual.
Thirdly, the idea of thinking one's own religion is the best (just this would be OK) and all other religions are bad (this is dangerous)
Fourthly, despite everyone's comment here, religion is the answer to all the problem that we face in this world. Being non-religious is nothing short of being an animal - religion with its moral values keep the world going. But using religion as a weapon to subdue less fortunate ones (like diseased ones, women etc) is the creation of the practioneers not the Religion. When practiced in true spirit, it only induces a sense of moral responsibility to everyone around us, making this world a happy place - heaven on earth

I don't have a religion except a general belief in the ultimate kindness of the Universe and the slow but sure evolution of human consciousness.
Generally speaking, religions do change with time, but the first to change are always the men and women who form the collective consciousness behind that religion.
I'm sure the day will come when all religions will cease to be religions and instead, be what we humans truly are deep inside - a manifestation of pure Truth.
But I deeply doubt if I'll see it during my current lifetime.

My religion is the best religion in the universe. My religion is Sanatan Vedic Dharma and is the only religion which is eternally present and relevant always. And being universal all are entitled to join it.
The Hindu Dharma which is my official religion owes its birth to the Sanatan Vedic Dharma. But over the years, there has been a big deviation from the actual divine path, and devotion part has been replaced by the rituals only. True there are rituals described in the Vedas, but the essence is devotion only. Today we have conveniently skipped the essence and are doing ' Aham brahmasmi' philosophy. We are reading Vedas, Upnishads, Bhagwat, Geeta etc. without realising and understanding the basic fact, that all the 'Hindu' scriptures are beyond the grasp of the human intellect. We surely need the help of a person on the divine path, who alone can explain us the essence of the Vedas, Shastras and Puraans.
Having said that, it is my humble view, that still the Hindu religion is closest to the Truth. I would have been happier, if we had called the Hindu religion as the Vedic religion. But I don't know how this can be done. The day we start following it correctly enmasse, I think things will change automatically.
There is no place in this religion for feigning devotion. This is the real religion and needs to be followed in proper way. No hundreds of Gods, but one and the only, lord Shri Krishn. All other deities are subsumed in the personality of Krishn. And all deities are happy when we worship Krishn. They don't feel offended. And there is no difference in Ram or Durga or Krishn. But Krishn being easily accessible due to His immense grace in playing and dancing with us, makes our task easier. He is not at a distance, but with us.
Boliye Vrindavan Bihari Lal Ki Jai ( Hail Krishn! Who roamed on the streets of Vrindavan).

That is a very good question. I seen so much that needed to change in my former religion I started my own. Really when you think about it the only one you can change is yourself. So I will answer your question on both my religions former and present.
Former: Southern Baptist - I would like them to realize that they will not make it to heaven by works alone! Jesus said "Go forth and Baptize" he meant people who willingly fallow him, not the ones that have been beaten into submission with the bible.
Present: Monotheist Wiccan - I call the shots with guidance from the bible, the Wiccan rede, Koran, Buddhist wisdom, science ECT. My knowledge of the world is constantly changing, so you might say so is my religion.
My faith in God is not based on just one book. I think there are many things to learn from the bible no matter how it came about.
It is important to learn the history behind any book you study, and take into account what was happening in history when that book was written and/or compiled and published.
All knowledge is good! Never close your heart and mind to the truth. Seek your own answers and you will find the truth you need.
I believe that not any one Religion or Anti-Religion is 100% right or 100% wrong. God is as real to me as Love. How can I prove to any one what I hold in my heart and mind as truth? How can any one disprove what I hold in my heart and mind as truth?
Blessings!

It should be the individual must change rather than the groups .If the individual has changed the world has changed that must be the base of all religons then there will be no necessity for a religion everybody is religious.

The changes I would like to see made to Heathenry are a lot but to start with I would like to see Folkism, the belief that a person not of Northern European heritage can't be Heathen, be done away with and I would also like to see some other ideas that I feel have been largely Judeo-Christian influenced done away with as well. I love my path but I'll be the first to admit that there are a lot of Heathens out there who have sticks up their @$$es.

As a Pagan, I would like to see a bit more knowledge of science in fellow Pagans.
Trying to use quantum physics to show that you control some force of nature is just embarrassing to the rational ones. Really, really embarrassing. I cringe when people talk about the invisible energy connecting everything that they have learned to manipulate.

Hinduism (santan Dharma) is the best religion in the world. Hinduism doesn't need reform. It is the way some hindus practice Hinduism that needs reform.
I think that the practice of Hinduism should be reformed in the following ways:
It should be comprehensively taught in Indian schools. When Indians study the Vedas, Upanishads, Shastras, Puraanas, Gita and Ramayana, Vedanga they will know that the caste system has nothing to do with Hinduism. Many Hindus seem to think that Hinduism is only the Gita and that is it. Equal importance should be attached to all the books because they are all as salient as each other.
The construction of idols and pictures should be prohibited (afterall this is a requirement in both vedas and upanishads) because the idols have been treated very very bad and very poorly. Pictures and artwork of Hindu deities are sacred symbols however some Hindus have no problem having them on sweet boxes, calendars, incense tins - all of which end up in the bin. In India, those whose profession is cleaning shoes, even have pictures of Hindu deities in their shoe cleaning boxes. How disrespectful is that???
The use of animals (such as rats and snakes) in worship should be stopped. Not only does the vedas NOT say that animals are to be used, but also they are completely unecessary, moreover it makes our religion look cheap and it makes it look like a hippy joke. For example, Ganesh is the deity that we are required to worship, so why do those stupid pandits pray to his rat???
All prayers should be undertaken in sanscrit. Sanscrit is the language of the gods.
There needs to be the establishment of a Hindu conglomerate which comprises all the various Hindu sects such as ISKON, sanatan dharma, Aryan Samaj, etc. This is because there is actually no such religion as "Hinduism" but Hinduism is an umbrella term which encompasses many sub religions such as Durga worship, kali worship, ISKON, Sai Baba institute etc etc etc. There needs to be greater intra faith dialogue between these and there needs to be the production of scholarship that is a result of joint effort. This is because there is present within Hinduism, contradictions. For example, according to ISKON, meat should not be consumed, however meat is an important requirement for Kali devotees. Similarly, there are some departments of Hinduism that teach sex should be used for procreation purposes only, however this contrasts with some Shiva doctrines where it is taught that it is a man's duty to sexually satisfy his wife. It also contrasts with other more tantra practices wherein sexual energy and kundalini are supposed to be important for spiritual enlightenment.
Further to this, recognition needs to be granted to the fact that Hinduism is an umbrealla religion which entails many different religions in its fold. This will stop all the unecessary confusion and it will allow people to perceive Hinduism as a conherent and comprehensive religion.
Recognition needs to be granted to the fact that Hinduism is BOTH a monotheistic AND polytheistic religion in tandem.
It should be a crime for anyone pretending to be a guru or a sanyasi and swamis and gurus should be closely monitored so that only genuine realised souls are the ones that are preaching and not those who simply want a quick buck out of illiterate people.
It should be compulsory for ALL pandits to have done a course in Hinduism before they are permitted to practice. This is because, surprisingly many of them have not even read half of the Holy Hindu doctrines. This causes them to practice Hinduism innacurately (for example by worshipping rats) and they also teach other Hindus to practice Hinduism innacurately in what becomes a cycle.
I think that in sum, the best way to reform Hinduism is to have more intra-Hindu debate, discussion, work, study and the production of more scholarship, discourse and literature. I think that there needs to be greater work, discussion and scholarship within Hinduism but also between Hinduism and it's affiliates which include Buddhism, Sikhism and Jainism.
