Also, how often are the words used in a good since and how often they are used in a negative since? Is religion a place you spend an hour or two each week or is it a way you spend each and every day of your life? True none of us are perfect but so much talk on this site about RELIGION and I wonder how many know what pure and undefiled religion is before God and the Father. Just checking. God bless!

Well, I went onto www.biblegateway.com and looked up the word "religon" for the King James Version and came up with 27 results, 5 from the bible and 22 topical. I hope that helps.

Acts 26:5
Which knew me from the beginning, if they would testify, that after the most straitest sect of our religion I lived a Pharisee.
Acts 26:4-6 (in Context) Acts 26 (Whole Chapter)

Galatians 1:13
For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:
Galatians 1:12-14 (in Context) Galatians 1 (Whole Chapter)

Galatians 1:14
And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.
Galatians 1:13-15 (in Context) Galatians 1 (Whole Chapter)

James 1:26
If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.
James 1:25-27 (in Context) James 1 (Whole Chapter)

James 1:27
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.
James 1:26-27 (in Context) James 1 (Whole Chapter)

I think there's five, but these are the two I like:

James 1:27
Pure religion and undefiled before God and the Father is this, To visit the fatherless and widows in their affliction, and to keep himself unspotted from the world.

James 1:26
If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man's religion is vain.

I could probably use a little meditation on those verses myself.

Religion appears nowhere, even if you see it in print, as it has changed to include even pagan beliefs, and beliefs in the false prophet. However, Christianity and Faith appear from cover to cover, and Alpha to Omega. Even before the Gospels, Christ was from the beginning and will be to the end, and into eternity. This is where we should spend our lives.

The words are used too often in a bad since, and not nearly often enough in a good. God is my Father, and father to all of us who believe in The Son. Believe in The Son and you believe in he who sent him into the world a second time.

Seven times in the KJV.

Galatians : 2
James : 3
Acts : 2

And not always negative: "religious proselytes followed Paul and Barnabas" in Acts has no negative connotation.
