To reduce the scarring use Mederma ( I have several surgical scars that are now almost invisible) and you can also get Vitamin E gel capsules, break them open, and run the gel on your skin ( that how I was told to heal my peircing scars).

As for the pigmentation, if it is too dark try this on it.

Use a lemon zester or cheese grater to turn half of a cucumber into a thick pulp. Then add a little less than 1/8 cup of milk or plain yogurt (depending on how thick you want it) and one tsp of lime juice and a dash of turmeric powder. Leave it on the spot for 30 min then wash off with your regular soap and water. After a few days it should lighten up, if it will lighten up. This recipe makes alot of it so you should refrigerate the remainder of the mix. If this doesn't work, I recommend speaking to your dermatologist or surgeon again to see if he has any suggestions to offer.

Good luck!

P.S Don't buy the skin lightener at the store, it contains hydroquinone which will cause even worse skin problems in the future, such as blotchy skin, worse pigmentation, and a high risk of cancer and dermatological issues.

i dont think there is a scar unless you had some scarring from the original tattoo (which many people do) ... i would ask a specialist at a clinic tho before you make your decision and go for a consultation. there will still be skin discolouration and sometimes the ink doesnt fade completely

Not much, I had a girl in a speach class give a talk on the subject and sometimes it just doesn't go away.

That is one of the things that no one thinks about when getting "inked". You could try a plastic surgeon and see what they tell you. I can tell you that getting rid of it, the scar and discoloration will cost a lot more than the "tat" did.

keeping it moisturized will help with the scar. I've heard for pigmentation that hydroquinone (sp?) is a good ingredient in fade creams. My mom used it for dark spots on her face and that helped them a lot.

I suggest microdermabrasion to reduce the scar and dark pigmentation. My only suggestion is that you find a reputable licensed esthetician.
