A good tip for this would be to look for symmetry. If it is asymmetrical then usually it is cancerous. However if you are concerned then I would most definately take him to the doctor right away.
That is not something to play around with and ask people on Answers.
This could be a very serious matter.

To judge a mole of a cancer or not base on America cancer society'ABCD;A;is asymmetric.B;border irregularity C;colour,is not uniform.D;diameter;over 1/4 inch.If your son's mole has one or more of these ABCD then need to r/o of ca.Most dangerous ca of skin is malignant melanoma.Bring him to see a dermatologist may need biopsy to make the diagnosis.

hi, well it sounds as though it could be a malanoma, i do recommend seeing a doc pretty soon, in aust we see a lot of em, and a check is the best way to go!

Take him to the doctor today. This is all signs of melanoma
