There is not really a good part of the body to take a round. So much depends on the type of round that hits you, what it goes through before it enters you (material carried into wound) and your physical condition when it hits you that it is almost impossible to give you a good answer. I have seen a man soak up 4 rounds from an automatic weapon in the thorax and have a minimal hospitalization. I have also seen another man die from shock after having his little finger shot off. Anytime you are shot it is a crap-shoot.

Can anyone smell a self inflicted wound coming on from this dude? Don't be a puss whack, go out and do your job. If your not thinking of self inflicting sorry. I've bee hit in the foot by shrapnel and didn't realize until we got back to the house.

THE ARM OR THE LEG. ANOTHER THING TOO, WHEN YOU ARE SHOT YOU REALLY DON'T FEEL IT FOR IT HAPPENS SO FAST, THAT IT NUMBS THE NERVES AS IT ENTERS. THAT IS WHY A LOT OF PEOPLE DON'T KNOW THEY HAVE BEEN SHOT , OR IF THEY HAVE WALK AROUND HOLDING THE AREA AND DRIVE THEMSELVES TO THE HOSPITAL.
BUT ANOTHER THING TO CONSIDER IS THE FACT THAT A BULLET CAN ENTER HIT A BONE AND MAKE THE TRAVEL OF THE BULLET RE-ROUTE. EXAMPLE A BULLET ENTERS THE LEG AND THE PATH IS INTERRUPTED , THE BULLET THEN CHANGES COURSE AND CAN END UP HITTING THE LUNG.

In the shoulder, above the lung, below the bone.
I've never been shot, or would like to be shot, but if I was, I hope it's there. A kid at my school in Jr. High got shot there, and was back at school in three days.

No where, it is against UCMJ to self inflict a wound and after it heals and they find out your not crazy and done it to get out of something you will be charged. If you are thinking of doing that to you self or some one Else think twice both party's will be charged.

Pain? Medulla Oblongata. It controls motor functions. You'd be dead before your brain can interpret the pain.
Damaged? Meh, the pinky toe. Who really needs it anyway?

The hair....
You can get shot in the hair and it doesn't hurt. Any place with skin attached would be a different story.
g-day!

fingers and toes. gunshots are extremely intrusive, and just nicking an artery or a vein could be fatal.
