What is the appropriate word for a bussiness statement of price offer?

My dictionary says, Quatation. but sometimes i find a word of invoice.

Which is the better, Quatation, invoice, estimate,or something else for a formal bussiness statement?

Thanx in advance!

Quotation (or quote--not quAtation) is good if the price will be the same no matter how much work ends up being needed.

Estimate is good if the price will change if substantially more (or less--but usually more) work is done than expected.

Invoice is the actual paper saying "pay this amount by this date".
