You friend is wrong. Jesus died that we wouldnt have to die the spiritual death, and Jesus suffered that we didnt have to suffer. But, suffereing happens because of sin. If we would all just being so in love with God, with Jesus as our saviour and be willing to obey God, there would not be this suffereing. God wants us healthy and well into old age. We can have healing, but we must be in the will of God and call upon Him for healing/deliverance, and He will ONce we are in line with His word, and do as He says, then we can call upon healing, and know it will come. SOmetimes it doesnt seem to come, and we dont understand it. But there is always something going on in that person that has to be purified by God. Not like they are a terrible person and living in sin, NO but something going on inside that they need to beelivered from and may not even be aware of it. When ppl ask for healing, it should also come with a prayer of deliverance, because of there is something in us thats not of God, the blessings of healing will not come.
Your friend that is in a coma, just pray for her, ask God to deliver her and save her and heal her. SOmetimes it doenst come, because God has a time for all of us to die. But when someone stays like this alive for awhile, we wonder why. Only God has the answers, but often it is to teach others around them lessons that will help them draw closer to Him. Like now, with this question, you can begin to talk to God about these things, draw clsoer to Him. Dont listen to others, not even me. SEe what God says about it in HIs word.
God bless you my friend. Seek only what God says and thats where all answers lie to every question presented.
YOu can e mail me if you want. I lost a son to cancer, and I have been there, but learned so much in the process, I even know why God took him home early. IF we listen , God will speak to us such revelation. Bless you....

plyjanney, Gods ways are so much higher than ours. Throughout my lifes lessons, I have learned to try and wait and watch. I am very sorry for your friends suffering and yours.

I have been angry at God and wondered, why in the world have YOU allowed this? And then seen some awesome work of God come out of a tragedy. Had it not been for the tragedy, the heart of the individual God moved on through the tragedy may not have ever responded by any other process.

When my youngest son lay dying for 27 days suffering on a heart and lung machine, i was shaken; In fact, I began smoking, drinking, and had all but lost my faith.
My Dad who had never known God, turned to God through this tragic event.
I look back now and see the saving of a soul and the joining of one with God. The Apostle Paul wrote,

The troubles that you are going through now -- don't discard them. Listen to God as he teaches you so that you can teach others. You see, a time of suffering teaches us something we never knew before and may prepare us for a time of counsel that we will give someone years from now.

God is with you. God is with you! The same God that guided his son through death and back to life said he will never leave us or forsake us. He is right there with you, perhaps even more in times of crisis than any other time.

FATHER, we believe that when we see you, any suffering that we endured on the face of this earth will be worth it. We believe that the first five minutes we stand in heaven we will know that anything we endured on this globe will be forgotten. Father help us to understand. And when we cannot understand, help us trust. AMEN

For a long time, there have been people who feel that if you are suffering you should offer it up to God as recompense for the suffering of his Son. This mainly applied before there was a way to ease suffering and is inappropriate today, but there are still a few who hold on to the idea.

I was Athiest then Agnostic then in a coma... I stayed in a coma for 61/2 weeks, I broke my back, ribs, scapula, bruised heart, lung, paralyzed on my right side, flat lined 3xs, and i went into a coma in the winter and came out when it was spring. I finally was able to believe in God when I "Awakened." You don't know how God is going to work or what he is going to do. I am a devout Christian now... it took a long time getting here and I had A LOT of hardship a long the way. As hard as it was and as much as I suffered... the journey was worth it. I will pray for your friend, I have faith he will be ok.
God Bless

Yes, it can remind us of His suffering. I believe that because of our flesh and blood state and because sin brought death, destruction and suffering into the world, it is a natural process to suffer mentally and physically. In Heaven there will be no death or suffering because we will be with God and made perfect.

I wouldn't have faith in that assessment. I would say that it is because we are human beings, and subject to the failure of our bodies, which inevitably causes pain. The Son paid the price for all of us, so that when our pain ends we will be standing next to him, whether it be here on the new earth, or in the new heavens.

There is no pain, death or sorrow in the new earth, which will be here in less than 7 years. All we have to do is hold on and never let go of our belief in the Son.

It is not supported by The Bible that the suffering of a parent is due to pay for the suffering of the child, or viceversa.
However, my actions can cause stress, pain, or even illiness in others, but that is another thing.

By "because his son suffer" your friend was reffering to God making us suffer because Jesus sufferred? That concept is wrong, worst than the previous one. Jesus came to Earth to die for our sins because God loves us and that suffering was the better way God found to provide us the opportunity to be reunited with Him. If He had another easy way to save us you bet He would choose that one.

While we remain here in this world, with this body, death will come to us, it is natural. For some people will be by illness, for others by accidents, and sadly for others by crime.

It sounds like you friend was trying to sound profound scoring off of the suffering of your other friend.

People suffer and always have suffered thousands of years before Christ was even born. You probably haven't heard that statement before, because no one was that dumb or selfish to say it.

You said "a friend spoke saying because his son suffered."

Who's son suffered? Your "friend's" or was he referring to "god's son"?
Either way, your "friend" is an idiot. I'm sure his words were extremely "comforting."
It amazes me how some can call themselves "christian" and lack even the least amount of compassion.
