I recently had my deck stripped of stain, washed and sealed. After 10 days, I can still see the small cracks that were visible prior to the procedure when the deck was dry.
Shouldnt most of the cracks have got filled in or is that just my misconception about how deck sealing works?

No matter what you will have cracks with treated wood. Deck sealent actually absorbs into the wood and adds to the life of the wood. It asborbs into and makes it last longer. The more weathered treated lumber gets, the more it cracks and bows and looks rough.

I used gray caulk between joints in my sunroom a number of years in the past and it has held up nicely. I plan to caulk between the joints on my dealt with deck boards and use strips of froth cut back from around pipe insulation foam and then caulk over the froth. the froth will shop the caulk in place till at last it dries. The caulk would be a sort which will amplify and contract devoid of pulling away. i'm going to apply a deck paint after it incredibly is complete. Any moisture getting on the deck will run down the spectacular of the caulk seams to the porch part. My deck has cured for 2 years and the hollow has long previous from one million/8 inch to very almost one million/2 inch after curing. i'm going to never use dealt with timber decking lower back except I permit it sit down for a pair of years or purchase cured decking. some form of guy-made decking may well be the main suitable as I even have on my sunroom floor.

A sealer does not fill cracks. A sealer only covers like paint or varnish to seal the wood cells from absorbing moisture.

Paint does not fill cracks so why would you think a sealer would\?

all of the cracks should have been sealed with the sealer, that's what a sealer does.
Buy "THOMPSON'S WATER SEALER", it is a top of the line sealer.
