I think the only unforgivable sin is blasphemy. Jesus said he would never leave you or forsake you. I beleive he meant what he said. I don't think Jesus, who loves a person enough to die for them would leave them in their darkest hour. Suicide hurts those who are left, deeply and forever. In cases of those who are terminally ill, I don't feel they should be forced to suffer unbearable pain in a body that is dying. I used to feel different until I watched my grandmother die and there was nothing the doctors could do except pain management. By far the most heartbreaking experience of my life.
If you or someone you know is feeling suicidal they should talk to someone...a counselor, pastor, friend, anyone. The world is probably a much better place with them in it. Stay here and do some good. :)

No not unforgivable though I believed this for a long time. The bible seems to be silent on the issue, though I believed one verse but I'm sure I had it out of context.
There is of course only one 'unforgivable sin' which it may not be possible to commit today with Jesus no longer on the earth some have argued, anyway clearly suicide is not this particular sin. It is still a sin however but God is a God of Love and Grace, 'Those that the Father has given me I will not let go of' (my paraphrase)

As far a sin issue, that would depend on the nature of the covanent that the person has with their god(s). To sin meant that a person had transgress what they had vowed to their god(s) to uphold. One of the reasons that sinning is so vile, the person not only does something 'bad' but they have also lied to their own god(s). If a sinner is willing to LIE and DEFY their own god(s0, truth is nothing is sacred to them.
This was also one of the reason that people cannot judge is another is guilty of sin, since a person doesn't know what another has vowed to their god(s).
One should also note the mentality of a person that is suicidal. THEY DON'T CARE. Their entire focus is turn inward engulfed in their own isolation and negative thoughts.
From the 'christian' perspective, the question really has real meaning, since they are all sinners anyhoo. Christians believe that their 'bloody lamb' that cleans up all their ickies.
From the gospels, its commented that the ONLY unforgivable sin is 'Denying the Spirit.'

Hi and good morning....I would think that suicide would be classified as a 'Mortal sin' since God created life, why destroy something that God created. The Catholic Church believes that there are two category of 'sins'. Venial sin and a Mortal sin. Now I'm not a born Catholic, however I do believe on some of their ideals of their religion and this makes sense. A Venial sin can be forgiven if an individual asks God for forgiveness such as gossiping for instance. A venial sin is an action or thought that wasn't intentional. A Mortal Sin is the most severe in which one has committed a crime that was intentional or a thought such as 'lust' for another man's woman or breaking one of God's Commandments.According to the Catholic Church, if one has committed a 'Mortal' sin, one needs a priest to ask God's forgiveness. With all this in mind, then I would think that suicide would be considered a 'Mortal sin' since one can't ask for God's forgiveness if they are already dead. They have committed a murder against themselves. This is my opinion. Have a blessed day!

It is definitely not a sin, but suicide is quite a modern phenomenon.
Before people where survivors. They wanted to live! Today they are "livers" and the lack of need to survive can do weird things to your libido.
The only noble way of suicide is ritual suicide, mostly Japanese or Germanic. Just to show you how noble this was, did you know that Seppuku could have several causes:
- not falling into the hands of the enemy and as such preventing the shame of defeat (sokutsu-shi).
- when a samurai wanted to express hate towards an enemy that was unapproachable (funshi or muna-bara).
- showing disagreement with a decision of their master, the ultimate way to make a master change his mind (kanshi).
- loyalty to the master; following their master into death (junshi or oibara).
That is so far from the reasons why people kill themselves today. O no, my girlfriend broke up with me, give me some tablets :-S

No, it is not. John 19:30, when Jesus Christ cried out to the
Father, "IT IS FINISHED". The means it stands finished, He
paid for all sin. Yes, even suicide. Now, if a person who is a
Christian does this to themselves ( which is ultimate arrogance)
that person loses all rewards or chance of them for all eternity.
So, suicide has a price, plus all the mess it leaves behind for
the family to deal with. Every man, woman and child's sins
are paid for. The BIG question is? Who do you think Jesus
Christ is. Is He God, that is the sin that sends people to hell.
The unpardonable sin which is spoken about in Scripture is
only for the unbeliever, who keeps rejecting the prodding of the
Holy Spirit to believe in Christ.

This is a yes and no question I think. It depends I think on the person and what God decides to do. I know someone who commited suicide when I was two, b/c of a medicine they had on the market they had to take off b/c it was causing ppl to go crazy. (I dont remember the name but I do know it wasnt an antidepressent). Now I believe people in cases like that go to heaven if their saved. Its God's choice in this kind of question. God is a humble and loving God but he is still a judging and disciplining God. Like if someones not saved and commits suicide then no. I dont think they will go to heaven. If someone says their saved and commits suicide there probly havent given there life to the Lord.. But agin Its not 4 me to say. Idk. Thats a great question but I think it depends ont the person, circumstance, and in the end the decision the Lord makes. : ). Oh, and the bible says all sins are forgivable except blasphemy. But the whole point of salvation is turning from your sins, and turning to Christ. Its a relationship. So if someones actually saved and they have the hope of Christ theyre not going to commit suicide.

I do not believe in sin, however I find it hard to imagine not being able to forgive someone who has committed suicide.
I have two friends who have and I wanted to be angry at them, because I was sad and I did not understand, but that was selfish of me. It was not about me or how I felt at all.
It is my opinion that if you get to the point where you can no longer cope with this life and you feel so trapped and alone and unloved . . . well, you need forgiveness more than anyone else, because you obviously cannot forgive yourself.

Assuming that all sins mean that there is an accountability to a higher being.....yes, absolutely unforgivable.
In my eyes, it's cowardice at its most extreme, and a slap in the face of every loved one that particular person had.
In a religious aspect, (sry, I don't share the same views as many), it would be the ultimate insult to your Creator, therefore be unforgivable in any sense.
