If you are into racing at all, the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum is a great place to visit. It's located in the center of the Indianapolis Motor Speedway.

Other places to visit would be perhaps the Dunes on Lake Michigan. If you are going in the winter, that is an especially good place to go sledding, though I've seen people do it in the summer too.

I believe the blueberry festival is coming up soon in northwestern Indiana. You could probably search it online as well as the Indiana State Fair, it should be coming up too.

Museums are pretty good including the Eiteljorg (no idea on spelling, but I know it starts with an E and has a j, pronounced something like Eye-tuhl-jorg.) Plus, just spending time downtown in the circle is great, in fact, today (thursday the 6th of September) they are having free concerts for the opening game of the NFL season. The circle also has great places to shop, and monuments to visit. A great place for a summer afternoon.

Broad Ripple (just outside of Indy) is an interesting town to visit. It has many arts and crafts shops that you can't find anywhere else. And if you want a few tips on places to eat, try Bazbeax's Pizza on Massachusetts Avenue (also located in Broad Ripple and Carmel) for some truly interesting pizza. You could also try Rock Bottom's Downtown indy...honestly, Indiana is a great place to visit, you just have to be ready to enjoy the scenery and have a great relaxing day.

Hi wishing,

Eastern Indiana has this amazing "rails to trails" program where they have converted old railroad tracks to paved walking and bike trails. You can travel a great distance over even smooth ground. Completely and totally free.

Metro parks are the single greatest value in any metropolitan area. I'm not sure where you are going in Indy, but look in to their parks and at rest stops you can pick up brochures that outline the best and most economical places to visit.

Museums are another great value. Indianapolis has a great natural history and art museum.

I'm not sure which area of Indiana you are visiting. Email me if you like and I'll try to provide more info/detail.

have a great trip ~
