MILLIONS ARE ALREADY LOSING THER HOMES, BECAUSE OF JOB LOSSES AN THE MORTGAGE COMPANIES TRICKS OF REFINANCING. THE AIR QUALITY GETS WORSE BY THE DAY. WE ARE GETTING FOOD WITH HARMFUL AND POISONOUS INGREDIENTS FROM OTHER COUNTRIES.

This world has never been a world of respect and freedom. The Roman empire was built on conquest, military might and slavery. The Pax Romana was the peace of Rome if you were a Roman citizen if you weren't then you were nothing. If a Roman citizen was killed in a non-Roman area then it was considered an act of war and the Roman army would invade and destroy the area or demand a huge "reparation" from the leaders, enslave the surviors and it then became part of Rome. The Golden Age of Greece was a constant state of war between the various city-states, The city-state of Athens had "democracy" if you were male, Athenian, wealthy and not a slave; the proper term for the government in Athens was an autocracy. Looking back in history and finding a perfect utopia with everyone being free is looking back at a fable and not reality.
I do not know if humans will ever change enough to create a utopia but much of the drive that creates improvements and explration also have a darker side that creates discontent and aggresion-people perfectly happy and living in harmony do not want to improve things (why should they it is perfect) nor want to explore and challenge themselves (they are perfectly content and happy so why explore or improve). The long term effect would be the destruction of everything and the human race-a stgnant society cannot survive long term so how could a planet or species. SgtMaj Canfield had a saying which I will paraphrase "When humanity becomes too civilized to fight then it will fall to the barbarians who aren't."

WRONG!

Where did you get the idea that "Many Many thousands years ago this world use to be a world of respect and freedom"?

It was a world of eat or be eaten, kill or be killed. Only the strong survived.

Civilization is a modern term, but even in the civilized world there has been constant war, slavery, death, mayhem.....

I don't disagree with your ideal vision of the future, but there never was such a past on this planet.

g-day!

I am old but I can't remember thousands of years ago so I will have to believe you can remember.

History shows that in truth the world is more at peace now than nearly all of the past. Notice I said more at Peace and not at Peace. This is true. You do not read history or you would know.

Remember all living life is dependent on other life to survive. All living things eat other living things.

Sorry the world has never been peaceful or full of respect. IN the past the way to get respect was to force it out of someone with a bigger stick.
At least now people with a great mind that aim for peace can be respected.

Why don't you do a little homework and you will find that we are very peaceful even compared to 200 years ago. Look back to just the beginning of the 1900's and Stalin being responsible for the death of 20 million Russians. History was very brutal.

That many many thousands of years ago must be back when there was a Garden of Eden. Since then there has been nothing but war. Mostly in the name of religion. No, the world will never change until the second coming of Christ.

The world has always been the same to me. For example the 13th century with Christopher Columbus, where the Spanish took advantage of the weak, to the Victorian era, where the snobby rich never paid attention to the poor. Believe me, the world has never been about respect and peace. As long as man lives, there will be different opinions and characters, and with that, a few who will attempt to have it their way.

I would have to disagree greatly with your "Many thousands of years ago this world use(d) to be a world of respect and freedom" scenario.

Every known version of a countries history contains war, every religious book be it Bible, Torah, Koran etx refers to war.

There has never been a paradise such as you state on the planet, its our nature that makes us this way.

But if you want to disagree please start your posts with "Once upon a time . . . . . . . .
