I have been reading a lot of self-help books and I am really proud of my progress, But it feels more like one step forward, 2 steps back. Then I need to re-read everything and work on my attitude again. Am I just impatient? I guess persisting to read these would help?

Changing your ways is not easy. It takes time and repetition. I have been working for several years to change my ways to better myself.
Keep it up!!

there is no end to working on yourself so Patience is needed it is one of the desired qualities in self help. it can be difficult to make the changes in your attitudes and behaviour as you become more self aware and work on the changes necessary to become what you are capable of becoming. don't bother reading the book again move on to another book you will find you will get clues from all of them you don't have to follow word for word of the whole book you already know what you have to do re reading it wont help practicing it Will. Learn to extract by reading the back index and pick what appeals to you I use Luise l Hayes book and deepack Chopra without actually reading the whole book. Keep trying as `trying it is doing it` well done

"Self-help" is something of a misnomer. Somebody writes the book. You may wish to find a support group of people with similar problems or goals. With the internet, it *should* be easy to at least communicate with somebody on-line.

I suggest that you practise daily, one of the relaxation techniques on pages 2, 11, or 2C, at http://www.ezy-build.net. (.net.nz/~shaneris) and note the tips at the mental-health-abc, and conquering stress websites, and use the daily affirmations, and give the EFT a good tryout.

Don't search outside yourself. Search within yourself, get an idea and try it. Whether it works or not you will learn something. Repeat indefinitely until u r satisfied.
