can't tell you what to buy, considering you gave so little data....hunting or targets? long or short range (relatively speaking)? you can get a pellet gun in .22 caliber, if that helps at all....
I never liked the break-down rifles, at least not with scopes...they're not bad with the iron sights because the sights are on the barrel, but it seems the barrel doesn't always line back up right so it throws off the scope. plus they have a hell of a kick for a pellet gun with that piston slamming forward. I'd go for a pump...more accurate, less noise, barrel doesn't move. Or a CO2. they also have guns (if you're really serious) that are precharged off of scuba tanks. these are extremely expensive and used for compitions and what not.... but a tip, if you want good advice give good information. oh yea, here's a site..I looked it up on google, you can too: http://www.pyramydair.com/air-rifles/

I just bought my son a Daisey 1000 pellet rifle for his birthday. It comes with a 3-9 power scope and is very accurate and fast . SHould be around 100 dollars. He shots it more than he does his regular rifles.

you will get a .177 or .22 pellet rifle. .22 rifles are very effective and could actual take down a squirrel. .177 will additionally paintings yet could require a 2d shot. attempt Cabellas online save.

GAMO makes the best pellet guns as far as I am concerned. They have there own website, just type in GAMO.
I use my pellet guns in the off season, just to keep myself in practice. I shoot targets, fruit, cans, pests like wasps, even flys off a piece of lunch meat thrown on the ground. I have taken small game with it as well. It's fun, cheap and great practice.

Save your money until you can get one, pellet guns are not as fun as .22's because they are slow to reload and don't make any noise. Unless you are a felon and can't get a gun ever, then you shouldn't be allowed a pellet gun either.

Gamo makes a real good one, they can be pricey 150 on up.
You can usually find them at retail stores: Cabella's/Bass Pro, or through them directly. The one I have is .177, shoots at 1,000 fps. Excellent for squirrel and rabbit, also a good target gun. They're break barrel spring action, quick reload, no pumping.

Beeman air rifles are simply the best made. Besides, you can get a .22 caliber air rifle, which can be just as effective as a firearm.
