Why NOT take some medication? Or would you rather just use something homeopathic that has no sort of research based evidence from the zit-faced kid at the herb shop? LOL! (just kiddin').

If your nasal discharge is clear and runny, then it sounds like allergies to me, or something viral. Symptom care only. You can try getting some saline nasal spray (I typically suggest "Simply Saline" for my patients) -- give yourself 2-3 squirts in each nostril, and then gently blow out. This will help wash out the debris often causing some of the irritation.

I don't suggest Sudafed or Afrin nasal spray. They are quite irritating to the sinuses, and when they wear off, you're right back where you started.

For a medication: Try some OTC Claritin (plain). Just one tablet each day can often help relieve some of these symptoms. If it continues to get worse, just remember that your chance of this turning into a full-blown sinus infection go up and up.

Best of luck.

Hot bullion water drink it as if it were your coffee or soda. The warmth will sooth your throat and the steam off the cup clears your nose. The draining of your nose is a good thing because if it settles in your lungs you get a infection or if it stays in your sinuses you get a sinus infection.

"let food be your medicine" (some ol' Greek guy)

Likely that it *will* heal eventually, whatever it is; but if you can boost your immune system and not irritate things that are trying to heal (with dry air, harsh liquids, etc.) it may go faster.

You could also try negative ions ("Ionic Breeze")

you might have an infection, you should have it checked by a doctor. You might need meds like antibiotics, if its an infection of the throat or sinuses.
