Well done that is some achievement. Why dont you just try doing a little bit more exercise every day, nothing to extreme but say 15 minute walk or take stairs instead of lift. that kind of thing. by increasing the time you are mobile you will increase your metabloic rate and burn off more calories. A stone is nothing compared to what some people put on.

if you can why not join an exercise class? i do body pump and bums, tums and thighs and it is mixed ages/sizes.The local council ones are good as you get to meet people in the community.

Do you mean your having problems with shifting the extra weight ? I'm afraid people i know have had similar problems, they say they where slimmer when smoking, but i think i would rather be a stone overweight than stinking of fags and having a nasty habit.
Well done on giving up, you shoudl be really proud of yourself.

Unfortunately yes, When you quit smoking your metabolism often slows down ( because nicotine sped it up all those years ) Not to mention many people eat a little more to replace their hand-to-mouth desies.... The only thing I can say is if you build more muscle and excersize more you will slowly bring your metabolism back up...But don't go back to smoking ( remember the hell you went through )

i also smoked for the same amount of years and it was in the first year of 2 years ago that i put on 1stone! your body has to adjust, I'm back to what i used to weigh now. and i shed that stone. go to the gym and try to eat correctly you will see a slow but sure difference.
