It cant be in the embryo because 20% of the time embryos are unsuccessful at becoming a human being. So why would god go through the trouble to inject a soul into an embryo only to have it lost?
I dont believe people have souls. I think people think they have souls because they have evolved such a strong consciousness that they feel they have a soul. Would you agree?

"A sould exists in a realm outside our own" - Where is the evidence for this? If it existed outside our realm, why does it stay with us?

I dont want to hear what the "Bible" says about. Geez, I already know what that dusty old book says. I want to know why it is I should believe I have a soul, other than the pseudo scientific text of the bible.

I don't think there is anything that survives the death of the body, there are only other peoples memories of you left after death and maybe evidence of things you achieved while alive.
There was a little girl reported in The Times UK only yesterday she was a was actually conceived about 12 years ago but only born recently as she had been kept as a frozen embryo or frozen fertilized egg I'm not sure which as I don't have article in front of me. If she had a soul on fertilization then it would have been in deep freeze too...I think the idea of souls suddenly entering mortal bodies at any stage is daft.

this is a very good question. i have to say that people do have souls and that we have such strong consciousness because that is the way god made us.
solomon said that life begins in the womb. i'm not sure if that means that you're a human being by that time (which i know is true) or that your soul enters at that time. look it up
God bless ^-^

The Bible teaches us that life begins at conception. It is then, therefore, our soul is born also. God does not go through the trouble of "giving" the embryo a soul only to lose it. Death exists because of man's original sin against Him - disobedience. The standard to qualify an "embyro" as human or not is man's standard, not God's.
We are still allowed our freedom. To make choices of right or wrong based on what we know. Sin corrupts the truth and it is often lost.
I know souls are real because I hear God to talk to mine often in the form of that little "gut instinct" everyone seems to have telling us what is right, what is wrong, which paths to chose, and what decisions should be made. It is God's way of speaking to our souls....

slightly ordinary soul certainty is this: notochord progression starts off approximately day sixteen after fertilization. till now this time, there's no handy storage sac for the soul. Now that there is a handy receptacle, god reaches way in (do not inquire from me how, and that i'm particular it does not harm) and actually shoves the soul into the arising notochord, which later develops into the worried equipment. with ease, separation of twins has already got here approximately via day 5 and if it somewhat is the case, there are actually 2 separate entities requiring soul stuffing. It replaced into as quickly as believed that there replaced right into a chosen soul sac, yet that has provided that been debunked.

A pre-embryo has a soul as soon as the Holy Ghost gives it one - at conception.. Similar to the Holy Ghost enabling the Immaculate Conception.. Two parents + Holy Ghost (God) = pre-embryo.
A person does not start as a non-person. So a soul is part of the new person from the very beginning.

God "breathed life" into Adam's body made from dust.
That is the soul.
True, the soul is related to the conciousness.
How can life really be explained any other way,
when you think about it?
The soul could develop along with the body being
developed - certainly one has a fully developed soul
while still in the womb in early stages - the heart is
develped very quickly, I've heard.

The Bible says "I knew you before you were born." The soul is created before conception. My question for Atheist is this in the absence of the soul, where do you find your moral compass. I mean you do not observe the Laws of Moses, prescribed by God. What guides your consciousness to extend out of the primordial ooze of decay. As you believe there is no higher power, your enlightenment is your God. If you do not fear the Lord Jesus Christ's Law, why than would you fear the Law of Man? I was just wondering. Is your subconscious trying to preserve your soul, which you profess to not exsist?

I'm not a Christian but I do believe in the soul. It exists outside of the physical world in the Platonic realm. It doesn't live or die. Physical bodies interface with it through the ages.
Edit: You ask why does the soul stay with us? The physical world has an interface with the Platonic realm and that interface is human consciousness. We only tap into that realm and get in touch with our soul when we "think".

Q: I dont believe people have souls. I think people think they have souls because they have evolved such a strong consciousness that they feel they have a soul. Would you agree?
A: As nearly as I can figure, you are asserting you don't have a strong enough consciousness to know you have a soul?
I agree.

First of all I do not agree with you about the whole strong consciousness business. I believe that at the point of conception God knows you. And that is what I believe. I have no scientific data on the subject, I believe it on faith.
