i have... hard going down too!

2007-09-06 01:51:01 · answer #1 · answered by Anonymous · 1 0

I made that mistake...well it wasn't exactly a shot, it was a funnel (beer bong) of 151....and a word from the idiocracy, DO NOT EVER IN YOUR LIFE THINK OF DOING THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

And I also lit my hand on fire when I was too drunk to be doing a flaming Dr. Pepper and the flaming shot fell onto my hand.

But 151 is still very good if you have a high tolerance....mix it with some stuff that will kill the taste, and do not use a heavy pour. Normally 4 ounces of rum is for a rum and coke, well for this you might want to use a 4 ounce shot of 151 for like.....20 ounces of cola. Just as an example. Really water it down. Still has the same affect but without the burn and self-mutilation, lol.

I have done 151 before. I did it alot when I was 19. The stuff is so high in alcohol content (75.5%) that it REALLY burns going down and it tastes pretty awful. 151 is not for doing shots unless you are just plain stupid or something. 151 is for mixed drinks. If you want to try doing a shot of 151 straight, go ahead, but don't say I didn't warn you.

Bacardi 151 is an exceptionally high-proof rum. The 151-proof liquor is approximately 75.5% alcohol by volume.

As with all beverages of this proof, consuming the rum by itself ("straight") is NOT recommended. Rather, it is typically used as a component in cocktails (whose final alcohol concentration may or may not be greater than that of drinks made with conventional rum). It is a drink that is commonly drunk while lit on fire. 151 is also a key ingredient in the drink Caribou Lou which originated in 1995 in Kansas Missouri, and is referred to in the Tech N9ne song: "Caribou Lou." An infamous drink using Bacardi 151 is the "Flaming Dr. Pepper", which is said to mimic the taste of the soft drink Dr Pepper despite being composed entirely of alcoholic beverages. The drink, perhaps more properly deemed a production, calls for ignition of the highly-flammable Bacardi, and as such has been banned as excessively dangerous from some bars and restaurants. Another famous drink is the 252 which is a shot made of equal parts Bacardi 151 and Wild Turkey 101 (hence the "252".)

I have taken a shot of 151, it was not easy going down. I don't recommend it.
It is fun to light on fire and drop into drinks though.

I have taken many shots of 151. That s*** is crazy. If you ever have strep throat, do a shot of 151, it will burn all of the bacteria away.
