I know this is coming soner or later, but I need some Bible scriptures, as I do not know really this myself, although He did create us, but if He knew we were going to rebel, then why bother. I know about the free will, but with infinite wisdom, you would think he would have thought twice....

God created the earth and all that was in it to dwell with us. This is difficult concept to grasp but God the Father's throne is in heavenlies...this earth was made and all its contents for God the Son...

John 1:1-3
John 1
1In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.
2The same was in the beginning with God.
3All things were made by him; and without him was not any thing made that was made.

This earth was to be His Kingdom. Instead we chose Kings for ourselves as the rebellion in Heaven began and the Satans (evil angels) were seduced by Lucifer (Gods highest ranking angel) to take over the earth and seek their own pleasures teaching men the knowledge of evil.

Genesis 6:4
There were giants in the earth in those days; and also after that, when the sons of God (Nephilem - angelic watchers) came in unto the daughters of men, and they bare children to them, the same became mighty men which were of old, men of renown.

The Bible refers to these "sons of God" in various places. However, some non-biblical writings that are considered controversial alude to the wicked fallen ones of God to be the pantheon of powerless gods that make up all the mythology and folklore. They had knowledge but no real power but made themselves "gods" over us...So the earth was made for God to dwell with us and so He did. He was in the garden, gave instructions to Noah, spoke with Abraham, Isaac and Jacob, was with Moses, Daniel, in the Fiery Furnace and everywhere else in the OT times with His people...then He came to born on earth as our Salvation. He is love...love creates, it is merciful, discerning and powerful...once established it cannot be destroyed. He knew of you long ago and having thought you up, loved you as His creation, just a parent should love a child. Rather than do without for eternity He came up with this plan to redeem you. One way or another His purpose in all this goings on is to dwell with you. Love in Christ, ~J~

Good question. While you're thinking about it, consider these thoughts:
1. The angels who supposedly had no free will, developed it and rebelled thus making evil -- I'd think that a lesson could be learned from that experience and a better creation devised.
2. The choice that we make in our free will is between good and evil, eternal life and damnation. In human terms that's like saying "I want to you love me because you choose to, but if you reject me, off to the torture chamber!" -- It should be infinitely possible to make the choice not between good and evil but just about spending time with god or not.
3. Adam and Eve had a choice between good and evil, without being "born into sin"; however because of their sin, billions of people are "born into sin" and all of creation was subjected to death and decay.

It doesn't really add up to a very realistic argument for there being a supreme being of any sort.

All was made for his pleasure. As to the rebellion and why bother? If as a husband, you knew you would have children, some would be good, some would go their own way, All to some extent would bring you great joy, and you would love them all the same. Some would live and be fruitful with grandchildren some would die in childhood. Would you throw it all away because some would fail?

Apparently because he was lonely and insecure, and needed beings that would love and worship him. So he made us, gave us the ability to make decisions for ourselves, and then created a place where we would BURN ALIVE UNTIL THE END OF TIME if we didn't choose to grovel in front of him.

Or there could be rational and discoverable causes for the existence of life, the universe, and everything, and god could a delusion that tyrants use to control more superstitious and primitive people.

You're asking questions. That's a good start.

Well... he didn't. Gods were invented to explain the unexplainable... things like the sun, moon, and stars... day and night... thunder and lightening... sickness and death... etc... and to answer the unanswerable... profound questions like "Daddy... what holds the sky up?"

For all of these questions, the delusion "God did it" (the ILLUSION of knowledge) has been replaced by REAL knowledge... and as a result, this 'god' has been reduced from an all-powerful supernatural being to a 'God of the Gaps'... an imaginary cockroach-like creature that scurries from crack-to-crevice, looking for the remaining patches of darkness and shadow in mankind's '"knowledge-base", so as to cower and hide from the glaring light of knowledge and understanding.

The fact that people continue to cling to this pitiable, delusional 'god' idea is pathetic, to say the least... a testament to the enduring power of gullibility, irrationality, willful ignorance, self-delusion, intellectual dishonesty, hypocrisy and drooling stupidity.

Why you write this question? becoz u willed so! Same is reply of God. And your rebellious power and infinite wisdom has not surpassed from his previous guesses. In Newtons words all of us are childredn sitting on stones beside the vase sea of knowledge yet and Socratic wisdom just understood "I do not know". But God the Creator of this vase universe with so intelligent design and so vastness that even even our light cannot pass. You heard about an empty hole of one billion light years width ten billion years away, that is perhaps just one cornner of his creation.

You are right. It is hard to believe in a creator who is so powerful to create all this and also create some beings capable of rebelling - only to punish then when they use this ability.

This creator must be a very mean and sadistic being!...
