Is there any proof that the kittens were dead or only her own words on it? That would make a difference. Also, some very elderly people do have some wierd thoughts on how to do the proper thing so maybe that was taken into consideration if the kits were already dead but the clincher is to prove that they were dead for sure and not just take her word on it. She may have decided they were too expensice to keep and killed them first and then threw them out. Can anyone prove what really happened? In any case, she should get a fine to pay for throwing a dead carcus out the window and contaminating her neighborhood.

I'd arrest her, and then the courts can determine her mental culpability.
BTW a cat stops being a kitten after 1 yr. It has no bearing on the issue at all, but just so you know.

I would need more facts before I gave an oppinion. How old is this woman? Does she suffer from any mental illnesses? You know things like that. I am sure that the verdict was based on other factors besides her age.

You don't mention her age, is she mentally ill, senile? She obviously should not be living by herself, unsupervised. She sounds like she needs to be put in an old folks home. Sad, those poor kittens.

I would say yes unless her age has led to some dementia which would make her not responsible. But then she needs to be where she can be looked after for her own safety and that of others but not really punished.

Thats a hazard to public sanitation, I would imagine.
Hell, down here we put kittens in a bag and toss them in the river. Its almost like a "tradition" in the sticks.

Was she 95?
Do you put a senile person in jail? Maybe in a home.... Interesting question.
Do you know the person? Was it near your home? Were they your cats?

Unless there is more to the story...then she should have..unless there was evidence she was senile and prosecuting her would end with no results but wasted money.
