Try contacting American girl, I know if you have their doll, Bitty Baby, they can repair them for you, you send them to the doll hospital, but their may be other doll hospitals online. With my daughter I put the dolls in a one piece sleeper so if the arm falls off she wont notice.

awww, i'm 25 and i still have my baby doll that i got aged 3, it was the first doll i'd ever got and i loved it sooooo much!!!!
Like your daughter's doll, mine has a soft body and plastic head and limbs, it's head is just about still on, one of her arms are hanging on by the last shread of material and both legs are hanging off!
The thing i love about my dolly is that i tried to stick the arm and legs back on with sticky tape, it's got bits of tape hanging off here and there (clearly didn't work) but it all adds to my baby dolls character!!!!
I'm sorry i can't answer your question how you'd like but i just want to say, your daughter will probably try to fix it in her own special way - sticky tape, glue, whatever, and it will be sooo cute! i'd leave the dolly and let your daughter keep her how she is, when she falls apart completely your daughter will probably start fixing it herself and it will be even more special to her!!!
if not you could try super glue all around the dolls arm and then hold it onto the soft body or go to a dress maker or someone like that to see if they can help you out! or google search 'doll hospital' and see if there is one near you
good luck =)

make a tube of material the same width and length. Take off the broken arm and use the stuffing to fill the tube. Then take one end, turn in the rough end and do a running stitch all around. Put the end of the plastic in this bit and pull the threads tight so it seals around the arm. When this is done, you can sew the arm onto the body. Repeat with other limbs.

I have one of my dolls from childhood and have wondered the same thing. I actually just taped it on with strong tape and put clothes on it. Of course getting it repaired would be better, but we live in a small town and I know there is nothing like that here, it might work in the mean time until you can get it fixed.

Look in your phone book and see if there is a local doll hospital, if so your daughter could go with you to make dolly all better.
